I have to say though as a user of other networks in the past to the reliability of them all is getting a lot worse than they have ever been.

Not sure what the alternatives are, I really just want variable data depending on what season it is. Hardly use calls and a bit more sms. |

tried giffcrap very briefly. awful service, and with the new tariffs from the likes of 3 they're not even worth it in terms of value for money.
couldnt ever recommend them. |

I also was on that network all be it brief. They are dreadful. If you have no issues then fair enough its cheap. But soon as the problems happen like whats been mentioned the customer support is dreadful. If you can't get texts to send/recieve which is a very basic function for a mobile just get your PAC and move to a network that can do it. You pay cheap you get cheap. Cheap customer support.

I've heard the before be called naffnaff on the variety of websites I visited. I would just switch to a provider whom you can talk about your issues too.

I don't use a phone much to be honest. GG because of the O2 network gives me a solid phone signal all the time including 2G. Can't get a Three signal of any kind near here, Voda is not bad I'm told.
My 250 minutes allowance with GG runs out in a few days and I've still got 242 minutes left so I've used 8 minutes in three weeks lol. Still, the S3 is nice to watch a film on when travelling I suppose. |

Good luck when your goodybag attempts to roll over. As many many have complained it fails and the system is full of bugs and gremlins with them. Sooner have a contract with a provider whom gives you what they state on the tin.

I prefer the online UK support from Giffgaff and the payback. Anybody who needs phone support is probably best sticking with O2 for their UK call centres

Been with Giffgaff for over 3 months and not had a single problem.
You must have also missed the outage on Jul 11th which was up to 24 hours for some. You must have also missed this one from March: http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1641340 And this one: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/11...ffgaff_outage/ I'm leaving out all the website, porting and other issues of which there have been many and concentrating only on the most serious service interruptions. All networks have issues occasionally, but not the whole thing being down nationally for all services for hours on end, or multiple service affecting outages in a year spanning the entire network. At the moment they are averaging a serious and widespread outage once every 3 months, I certainly wouldn't rely on them if I had an ill family member, or a pregnant wife, or in fact for anything that might require receiving a very important call, for example about a job etc. They are a total mess. |
