I have a Foxsat HDR and am connecting it to a Yamaha YSP2200 sound bar and then to a Toshiba XF355 TV. All the connections are with HDMI only. The picture is fine but there is no sound being output. I swapped the cables to eliminate that but same story. I then bypassed the YSP200 by connecting the HDMI from the Humax directly to the TV but again no sound. Previously I was using another sound bar which didn't have HDMI so I was connecting using SPDIF cable from Humax to the soundbar and HDMI video from Humax directly to TV and that worked fine. I can't see any menu items in the Humax menu to configure the HDMI so has anybody any ideas please?

Are HD channels and SD ones the same - ie no audio ?

Yes they were but now I've solved it. I had the volume setting on the Humax set to zero (which somehow wasn't a problem when I used SPDIF) but with HDMI the volume needed to be switched up. Once I did that - hey presto - problem solved!

I had exactly the same problem when I installed a new AV Amp. Felt such a fool when after posting forum questions I discovered the Humax volume was turned down.
