We all have different tastes - re the case - as bob-cat said(Humax) if everyone likes the styling then we probably failed. (From memory so not in quotation marks)

Anybody having issues with iPlayer on this box? As I mentioned earlier in the thread, when using the backwards EPG only SD BBC programs will play via catchup, HD programs only seem to be available in the player itself.

Another issue is that every video that starts stutters terribly. Its not a broadband issue as if I pause the video, even if only for a second, the playback is perfect once I resume.

Also iPlayer is very unstable, and often crashes when I use the search etc.

Quick live buffer Question if I may:

Does the live buffer still reset if you play back a recording or access the guide? This happens on the original HDR and drive me (and the kids) crazy...

Broadband speed? - how is unit connected to router? (can reduce speed onsiderally)

its not a broadband speed issue, I can play SD or HD content perfectly in the iPlayer app, but they both glitch constantly, unless I pause the playback, even if only for a second, and then its fine. No issue with the same iPlayer app on a youView box, or with HD video on Apple TV etc.

Broadband speed is 11Mb, connected directly to router with an ethernet cable

Just wondering if its only me, as it seems to be a bug.

If pausing for one second is a fix I don't see what the problem is!

maybe I should have said "work around" as I assume you are supposed to be able to play a video without having to pause and resume every time to clear the glitch !

If anybody else could test the same, Id appreciate it

I will admit to a glitch but I expect that (via a VPN) - Not a problem for me. (but I agree It was only at start).

I have the exact same problem, I'm on a 30-40mbit connection. Can use iPlayer HD on PS3 and Roku no problem.

No problem for me playing HD content from the backwards epg, have you tried going backwards from a BBC-HD channel, the backwards epg presented is tailored to the channel you have selected. No problen with ITV player other than the usual poor quality.

And can you still skip forward 2 minutes (and adjust this time length)

Also can you still add bookmarks ?

(I'm hoping the TB version doesn't reserve 15% of the disc space too.)”

Forward skip 30 120 240 60 seconds - default 120
Reverse 7 15 30 - default 15

The defaults are near perfect - ad breaks are either approx 2 or 4 minutes.

Not tried any lip synch adjustments as not seen any problems at all in this area.

Don't think there are any bookmarks (not found any yet)

I cant understand why its not working for me. I am specifically trying BBC HD channels in the backwards EPG, and when the program starts, its in SD, and the HD toggle is OFF on the bar at the bottom. If I turn this ON, the stream doesnt change.

If I open the player then find the same program, it is in HD, as I have set the HD preference to ON in the player settings.

OK in front of my box now (past my bedtime ). Pressed TV Guide, selected BBC-HD, Pressed left. Chose the 18:00 Doctors, replay is clearly 720p HD.

Thanks for your help I followed those exaxt steps, and I get the SD version of the show.

If I choose it from the iplayer, and toggle HD to on, it is clearly the HD version of the same.

It has to be said, the SD version is good quality, but the size of the BBC logo gives it away, the HD stream has a much smaller BBC logo, not to mention a much higher quality !

My iplayer crashed and I was bombed back to live TV the first time I tried, so I am definitely seeing stability issues with iplayer

I guess we'll find out soon enough, but logically I would of assumed the 1TB would be showing around 7 or 8% as reserved.

Perhaps your connection speed (as received at at the unit) is is considered?

Perhaps, but I have 11Mb broadband, and speed tests show that it is running at that. I have a youview box and that works fine. Personally it looks like a bug / behavioural, but I couldn't explain how it works for somebody else and not me, I didn't expect that.

There is definitely a bug I can use hd iplayer no problem on ps3 and Roku. The issue is buffering it plays to quickly and doesn't first buffer enough. Trying again on ps3 it takes slightly longer to start playing but once it starts it just plays. Humax box starts pretty much instantly but just stops and starts continuously only way is to pause wait a minute and then press play. I'm sure Humax can sort this one out.

Thanks. What about the HD issue I see? I cannot get the iplayer to play anything In HD from the guide. It will only work if I go into the "app" and select a program, with the HD toggle on.

How is the unit connected to the LAN?

No wifi built-in for the 1TB version, just in case no one has confirmed it.

its directly connected to the router via Ethernet.. i'm sure this isnt a broadband or local connectivity issue, the streams are playing, it just launches SD streams and never launches HD streams from the guide.

I thought It's already been confirmed that at the moment WiFi is only going to be available on the White model when it gets released.
