As an serial early adopter I am very pleased with my 1000S but I am a bit miffed to discover that it failed to record the final of Young Apprentice. Still, I was able to go back in time and watch it on the iPlayer. Hopefully Humax will sort out the missing recordings in the new year, otherwise it will start to effect sales.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all techies everywhere. ![]() Clem |

It's affecting sales now! I'm not gonna touch this box if it's as rubbish as it at appears to be in performing it's intended function. My existing Foxsat HDR has its moments, but thus far, it's streets ahead in doing what it was supposed to do -- make recordings. The fact that the much-promised 4OD and C5 catch-up won't appear until some unconfirmed date in 2013, rather than 2012 as promised, further makes this one to avoid for now. I'm happy to let the existing beta tests (sorry, customers) suffer the failures. I've got past the point where I'm happy to shell-out a large chunk of money just to become a glorified beta tester for a product. Nowadays, in the Dye household, if something doesn't work as advertised, it goes back for a refund. In the Humax case it would appear that it's a far from finished item. It's like buying a new car and finding that you can't turn the steering wheel right -- "Ah, yes Sir, we know about that. We'll fix that for you at some point when we feel like it. In the meantime we're sure you'll be happy just turning left in your new, expensive item.".
Clem hopefully bugs will b ironed out very early in the new year, i am sure if sales slump they will certainly have to pull there finger out |
