Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all techies everywhere.”

It's affecting sales now! I'm not gonna touch this box if it's as rubbish as it at appears to be in performing it's intended function. My existing Foxsat HDR has its moments, but thus far, it's streets ahead in doing what it was supposed to do -- make recordings. The fact that the much-promised 4OD and C5 catch-up won't appear until some unconfirmed date in 2013, rather than 2012 as promised, further makes this one to avoid for now. I'm happy to let the existing beta tests (sorry, customers) suffer the failures. I've got past the point where I'm happy to shell-out a large chunk of money just to become a glorified beta tester for a product. Nowadays, in the Dye household, if something doesn't work as advertised, it goes back for a refund. In the Humax case it would appear that it's a far from finished item. It's like buying a new car and finding that you can't turn the steering wheel right -- "Ah, yes Sir, we know about that. We'll fix that for you at some point when we feel like it. In the meantime we're sure you'll be happy just turning left in your new, expensive item.".

Clem”

i must admit its not the best start to the hdr1000s, i bought on release (altho at trade price), but sometimes i wish i hadnt been so hasty in selling the HDR which i hardly ever encountered any problems with.... i must say the only problems with this box that truly annoys me is usually sometimes the catchup is a few days behind, especially on weekends and often doesnt have half the stuff on there thats on if ya go direct to the itvplayer...4OD and 5OD was a major purchase decision maker as was the backwards epg, as this isnt coming till next year its not so much as a problem as an inconvenience, as i still have access to all catchup channesl via my PC which is connected to both my back room and front room tv via hdmi cable,

hopefully bugs will b ironed out very early in the new year, i am sure if sales slump they will certainly have to pull there finger out
