I got my blackberry torch 9810 at Christmas, and it had a 3 free warranty. However, after the warranty ended, the trackpad has broken and the touchscreen is terrible so I'm finding it very hard to navigate. Is it true that if your phone is under one year old blackberry will fix it for free?

If i remember correctly Blackberry don't repair or service handsets in uk, they get sent abroad.

Not sure if the handset is new or second hand? if it is under warranty get three to repair it.

It should still have a warranty, contact Orange or go into an Orange shop.

Orange should sort out the repair for you.

Unless you broke it of course.

Hi Hannah,

Call Orange when you get a chance but you might need to fight for a free repair. Twice I've had faults with my blackberry, the first time it just kept restarting which was very bizarre and they tried to charge an excess. I pointed out to them it must be a software fault and after about 45 minutes they finally agreed.

I had to call tonight again as there's another fault, the port to charge has come loose all of a sudden and now won't charge (honestly haven't dropped it) and before they even took my name the man told me I'd need to claim under insurance. i asked for a supervisor and was told no, tried to hang up and redial and the place was closed so not sure if this is standard these days or just someone finishing their shift not wanting to help....

Oh and if it was bought/ordered online, don't even attempt to use their shops. Last time I did that all I got was severe attitude and a patronising explanation that they don't deal with problems for phones not purchased in store

Let me know how you get on and good luck!

Orange are very good when it comes to Blackberry, if they authorise it you get a replacement phone via courier the next day (they pick the faulty one up at same time and swap) you just give them the phone and keep battery, cover and charger.

Had it done several times and always excellent service from them.

Thanks! Had a very long chat with them yesterday, and they think it's partly software and partly hardware, need to finish the whole thing soon. So far the caller has been very friendly and very helpful.
