My youngest daughter has it, she uses her Blackberry but watches videos/iPlayer/Skygo on the S3. She seems to quite like it.

Cool, makes sense not having 2 phone contracts yourself now!
![]() Anyway Tracey there must be a way to find out and I'm curious now myself. Will have to do some reading on the XDA forums, will post back if I find anything for you. |

Technology is my thing, I know people who spend £7 a day on cigarettes. If I spent £7 a day on phones I could have loads of great phones lol. I prefer to keep it below £3 a day per month. ![]() Oh lets not fallout you're pretty much the only person I don't now have on ignore

Don't know if this works or is helpful, found on another forum:
If you dial the code *#7465625# into your dialer a screen will display, telling you whether Network Lock is ON or OFF. Can someone quote me, think Tracey has blocked me too

This doesn't work anyway. I've just tried it on my iphone. "No network service available" or something. Unless that means something.

Can someone quote me, as I think Tracey has blocked me as I said she was rude to me
![]() Tracey, after some reading it seems if the phone has the T-Mobile firmware on it you won't see the Software update option. Settings>About device>Software update. Mine is from T-Mobile and the option is there. But other T-Mobile customers say it's not there for them as it's locked to the network. |

type in *#1234# to see what CSC code you have, if its TMO its branded and if its XEU its unbranded. Orange also gave out a load of generic phones due to delays and stock

Edit:
It's XEU so I guess that means it's unbranded. Would unbranded be a good or bad thing in terms of software updates? |

It seems there is a few ways to tell if your phone is branded, eg
The CSC begins TMO(t mobile) ORA(orange) etc. Open the browser is the home page T-mobile or Orange or O2 ect. My browser goes straight to a Samsung home page. Also my phone has no signs at all of any network branding and its also unlocked/simfree. |

Good as you will get the OTA updates straight away from Samsung. Otherwise you would have to wait for the mobile network to release it.
Also again would be nice if someone can quote me so Tracey can see this post. |

Good, means the updates will come straight from Samsung, rather than waiting for the carrier to finish messing around with it which can take some time.

Latest firmware is for unbranded, unlocked S3's is:-
I9300XXBLG8 Modem:- I9300XXLH1 CSC:- I9300OXABLG8 Jelly Bean should be imminent i would think. A new leak was out yesterday which apparently has pretty much zero bugs now. |
