New iPad - playing video off a micro sd card or a USB hard drive

I have recently jailbroken my iPad 3. I am wondering if either there is something available on the app store (unlikely) or cydia (maybe) that will let me connect up one of these

and then play videos that are on the attached micro sd card or a USB hard drive? Without transferring them over first (I.e it uses the card reader to stream them?)

There might be some ways to tweak video playing, but it is simple enough doing the designed methods, which use Itunes on the PC. If you don't want it connected to the PC while you watch, it is not clear why you don't let Itunes sync it to the Ipad, watch it and then delete it.

I expect it is so the op can quickly watch something on an SD card rather than having to put the card on his PC and then transfer the file to his iPad.
