Now to be honest I don't like Bob Dylan or his voice so I'm not great on his songs BUT I do love Adele's version of one of his songs, in fact I loved it . Just wondering if there are any other great Dylan covers out there ?

I used to feel the same about Dylan but grew to love him so I understand where you're coming from. Covers are a great way to become acquainted with his great songwriting. I don't know what kind of genres you're into but here are a few different covers (some with links, some great - some not so great)

All Along the Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience (probably the definitive version) or Dave Matthews Band

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwzTDcRBGTM

Mr. Tambourine Man - The Byrds

I Shall Be Released - Chrissie Hind or Grace Potter

Every Grain of Sand - Emmylou Harris

You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go - Shawn Colvin
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9v_feZAQAs

Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Eric Clapton

Simon & Garfunkel - The Times They Are A-Changin'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8AxJBT-tXw

Don't Think Twice It's Alright - John Mayer (not great quality but has lovely orchestral backing)

There are tons of covers and I think there's a list on Wikipedia but the above should keep you busy

Aw, I'm the complete opposite. I love Bob Dylan and hate covers. I dream of the day I can type a Bob Dylan song into youtube and get his version!!!

Manfred Mann's Just like a Woman and Mighty Quinn are worth a listen, more tuneful than the Dylan versions, but superior or not is all about taste.

I prefer Dylan's versions also save for maybe Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower but it took me an awful long time to get past Dylan's voice even though I always appreciated his songwriting. I'd definitely listen to Dylan now over covers although I don't hate covers. I think there are some good ones out there but a ton of bad ones too. ahem, I'm looking at you Ronan Keating!

Those are definitely two good ones, Charlottesweb.

The first song of his I ever heard was "Buckets of rain" and I just couldn't get past his voice. But I re visited him a while back and really got into it. The first few lines of make you feel my love, his voice always makes me wince haha.

Haha, he's not gifted in the singing department. Thank the heavens for his writing though! I was similar to you and it took me a few attempts to get into him but when I did, I was hooked and even have a book of his complete lyrics on my bedside locker.

You need to listen to Highway 61 Revisited, Blonde On Blonde, Bringing It All Back Home, Freewheelin' Bob Dylan and Blood On The Tracks to experience Dylan at his best. I like his voice from the 60's/70's because it's so unique but I can definitely see why people have a hard time getting around it. His lyrics and music are too good to pass up I feel though, particularly in this age of autotune and songs with no substance of meaning. Listen to the words and not the voice, and I think you would enjoy him a lot more.

When Guns N Roses did their version of Knockin' On Heaven's Door at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 it really was a sign of things to come for that band.

I agree with those who say that Bob Dylan's voice is unusual, but somehow perfect for his songs. But if you like female voices, Joan Baez covered It ain't Me Babe, Farewell Angelina, It's All Over Now Baby Blue beautifully imo.

Fairport Convention are famously big Dylan fans - I love this cover of I'll Keep It With Mine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUtFXmS9FmA

They also did a pretty amazing version with Larkin Poe and Blair Dunlop at this year's Cropredy Festival - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhz4vr3MXrA

I thought the story was Dylan let Joel release it first because he wasn't so sure about it himself while Joel was wowed by it but shocked when he heard it wasn't going to be on Dylan's next album. Then when it came out as a hit Dylan released his own original version because Joel praised it so much in the press interviews at the time, creating public demand for it.

I didnt know that, interesting story
The Joel version definitely sounds more hard edged and Adele's version contains longing and sadness.

I think it just shows the man's genius as a songwriter that such a diverse array of Artists has been compelled to cover his music.
