Ive seen in action many times and watching that live event today made it look very poor.
Dont get me wrong, having spent 20+ years supporting server OS and mostly MS, Im very pro Windows, but I feel the W8 tiles etc dont really do it and from what ive seen and heard recently its not catching on fast.

W8 may help the app development, but its slow on take up at the moment.

Yes, hilarious And holding a phone up in london to the sky using that city lights app and in bright yellow, would probably get it nicked, and i expect the find my windows app isnt available yet

What do you mean they will attract attention in a city?

All except the black and the grey are girly shades.

What are manly colours? Beer and football? Mauve and buff? Lilac and wisteria?

I need to know this as I have a pastel salmon coloured shirt. Yet my penis appears to still be attached. For now.

If you start waving around a bright yellow phone in the middle of London, chances are it'll get nicked, or people will just look at you weirdly.

I don't see why. I see people successfully using a phone in London all the time. It's kind of obvious what they're doing right, hand against their ear, talking despite there being nobody else there. I don't see that being yellow is going to make that any more obvious. Less so maybe, it could be a banana.

Not a tweenager which is what these colours seem to be aimed at. Now if they did it in a strong Oxford blue I may be interested.

It was demonstated like this in the live event, if you watched it then its fairly clear

I'm sure you'll be able to get a British racing green cover.

I always toy with the idea of getting a brightly coloured phone but always end up with black.

Actually it matters little to me as I always put my phone in a protective, leather flip-case. But I can't see many blokes sporting those pastel hues down the wine bar. They could be a sales-killer.

I have a plain black Lumia 800 but I've put a cyan (blue) cover on it.

You could perhaps put a white or black or other colour on it.

There is a business-man friendly grey, but these yellow phones look fresh and fun but still smart to me. I'm sure some people will enjoy standing out. The girls have always raved when they've seen my cyan phone.

It's not an app, it's a website and it has been available since the very beginning of windows phone.

Exactly like what? nothing to make anyone move from s3, note, iphone, one x. There is no must have feature or wow factor which I feel was needed.

Looks ok phone sure it will be good but not going to set world alight or rack up pre orders I suspect.

No. I'm asking what kind of killer feature would you regard as being sufficient to make people jump on board?

They don't interest me but they do look quirky. Not the style I go for in a phone either but they are bright and cheerful.

I've no idea why you asking me I'm just saying there is nothing outstanding here.

It seems I am not the only one to feel this Nokia share price dropped following the announcement

Apart from all the new phones using similar technology.

Similar to the Sony lenses available on many other phones?
