Mm I'm thinking he either splits with Ste, or they take a break until Doug decides whether he can deal with it or not.
I just like that whatever happens in the kitchen must be important, for Ste to even tell Doug about it, and for Doug to be so bothered.

Yeah either sounds likely. I think it must be more than a physical thing too. Ste must actually realise his feelings for Brendan, and to most loving someone else is worse than just sleeping with someone else
Can Ste and Brendan live at the slum together for awhile? 
He might not want to be at his and Cheryl's while Pa's staying there, and he's the slum landlord (if they remember). So if (when - hehe) he and Ste reunite, that just works out really well

Mm, Ste didn't feel guilty enough to tell Doug about the near-kiss, because he put it down to his kids leaving and being in a bad place, whereas whatever happens in the kitchen, he can only put down to still having feelings for Brendan, cos he has no reason to even help out.
Which is amazing for us.
