I'm glad we're not really close to any type or reunion when he turns up though, with Ste just going through Doug being all closeted it would of been really irritating.

And with the kitchen chemistry stuff, if it doesn't end well, then at least we know we have one good moment coming out of it ”

Plus, I do think there's obviously a bit more to the plot with the Brady dad. With Doug's dad, it was mainly a bit of a ply device for this wedding stuff, and what I assume will be a nice moment where his dad tells him he's fine with him being gay.

Whereas Pa, from ES's interview, seems to be coming between Brendan and Cheryl. And he abused Brendan, and is properly homophobic. He sounds more like a classic villain.

Maybe I'm being stupidly optimistic, and I'll eat my words, but I just can't see it. They've dragged this out for so long, and been round so many circles. I honestly think they must have realised they were losing people's interest and they had to do something.

I can deal with Pa as a cockblock, because at least he's interesting and it feels like it's going somewhere. But if they're going to try to make out Ste's still really in love with Doug, they really would just kill it stone dead, and I don't think they can risk it really. But we'll see.

The Doug/parents and Brendan/Pa plots are very different. Herb seems a bit rude sometimes, like with continually forgetting Ste's name, and making presumptions about him, but he and Connie seem to genuinely care about their son, and want his happiness.

Whereas we know Pa has been violent, and put Brendan down directly.

Hmmm, I agree, I think the Doug stuff is going to end all happy and fine where as the Pa plot is going to end in disaster and Cheryl may not be able to look at her dad in the same way. I think she is going to be absolutely applauded/devastated when she finally see's behind the deceit and knows who her dad really is and what he's done.

I think Brendan's going to be left on his own again for a while too if Cheryl doesn't believe him, he never gets a day off does he

I can see myself crying at some point during this already

I've just realised that the kitchen chemistry episode will be exactly one year after Brendan got arrested, and the whole thing went down the crapper.

That seems somehow appropriate to me. What a year.

With Pa Brady around, he will.

Well, if they care to have Ste remember that he also went through the same thing with his step dad, he will.

But they won't. So ... no he won't have Ste.

ETA: You say that now C&S but what if by, things hot up, they meant Brendan pushes Ste into the oven? WHAT IF?

Anyone else thinking that what we heard the actor who plays Pa say, are his first words on the show?

It'll be extra specially good BECAUSE you're at the theatre. That's how it works. We just need LMan to go out now, and they'll be shagging on the floor before you know it.

There's no way that Ste won't be apart of it a little though, but maybe he won't want to get too involved?

Well if that's the way it goes, I'll happily leave for the night.

ETA: I suppose it depends really, Radio.

If Ste is still with Doug when Pa arrives, I doubt he'll even be allowed to help, even if he wants to. Cos of Doug.

And he won't be able to tell Doug why he wants to help cos Brendan won't want him to tell anybody.

Aw poor boys. Always an obstacle.
