I know that back in the spring BT announced that a number of channels, including FX, were coming to BT Vision in the autumn (I believe). I just wondered if there was any update of when this might happen?

I've recently got into The Walking Dead, and they've just announced that season 3 will premiere on FX on Oct 19th. Be great to watch it when it's broadcast, rather than having to wait till spring/summer 2013 for channel 5 (or having to go round to a Sky friend who'll be suitably smug about the whole thing!!)

Cheers!

the FX linear channel will only be available over Infinity, so if you have BT vision over DSL you wont get it.

Cheers for the update - my plan (if the prices and packages are right) is to go across to BT YouView and Infinity at the same time. I'm guessing that nothing will quite be in place for me to do this by mid October though.

That is not confirmed yet. I know why you have said that, but read the statement carefully and it says "BT Infinity ENABLED area", not that you must have BT Infinity. We need to wait to see what happens.

Agreed. The wording indicates that BT could wire ADSL customers up to Infinity. It might also limit such customers' broadband connection speed so that they did not exceed 16-20 Mb when using the internet to encourage them to move to Infinity. Such customers would continue to be charged at ADSL prices.

The second option is a possibility. They are currently trailing self install options for fibre to the cab in Scotland. So engineer visits wouldn't be necessary.

When FX linear channel is launched on BT Vision, will they only offer FX HD? It would make sense to in my opinion, considering that all BT Vision boxes would support linear IPTV HD channels. And even if you had a BT Vision box connected to say an old CRT TV via Scart, no problem - the box can just simply downscale the HD picture to output via Scart!

HD only would certainly be possible, but I suspect unlikely because from BT's perspective they'd presumably want to make the linear channels available to as many lines as possible - not just infinity. So perhaps they'll do an HD option for people with fibre and also with SD options for people without?
