I know, right?

This "project" sounds horrible, and I really do think Gaga is a total sell out and co-operate tool at this point. It's sad to see. I think she could have been something really special without fickle rubbish like this.

Very, very disappointed.

It is what it is, but do we really need kids to be spending even more time behind a computer screen like zombies?

That's an incredibly short-sighted and ill-informed post to make. As is the case with many of life's luxuries, you can enjoy them without over indulging - yes there are people who spend too much time on a computer and damage or change their own eyesight and mental welfare, however what is FACT is that more and more people in the developed world own or have access to a mobile entertainment device upon which this app can be download and used from. Therefore it makes sense that she branches out into these new mediums - music changes & evolves and I think that's what many are failing to see, or are getting themselves wound up about the fact that she doesn't always release her music in a conventional way which is "safe".

It's stupid to try and link together the moral panic/problem stated by the press and other official bodies surrounding the youth of today spending too much time using digital multimedia & not spending recreational time outside, and Gaga releasing an app to promote her album. The link you're trying to create is tenuous in the extreme.

Actually Born This Way was quite well received critically. She's got a lot of flack the last year from people like on this forum who don't understand gaga , her message, or can't register that pop music doesn't have to be mindless trash with no thought. Also she got attacked with this whole madonna thing

Who said pop music has to be mindless trash? Michael Jackson made pop music and it wasn't mindless trash, and a lot of artists did. I think it only started to become cookie cutter in the days of Britney and X-tina.

Everyone gets comparisons made about them, though. Before Chris Brown was enemy number one with the Rihanna thing, people told him to stop acting like Usher, and Usher to stop being Michael Jackson. It happens all the time. I do think GaGa received the most flack for her copy cat ways, but I think a lot of it had to do with her fans saying she is 100% original even when she would say that she was inspired by others. I don't think she is any more of a copy cat than Beyonce, but for some reason when Beyonce does it it's not a big deal. Maybe because the people she rips off of dont comment on it like Madonna does.

I wasn't blaming her for it. It's just what will happen. I know my generation and I know that many people will become obsessed. It's just what happens, though, it most likely will be for a short period of time until the next thing comes along. When the app comes out, there will probably be less use of angry birds for a while and more that. It's smart of her to utilize it to make her brand even bigger. Eventually it will be the norm and something else will have to come along to keep innovation going.

That post was rather unnecessary. The implication that if people don't like Lady Gaga because they don't understand her is not a particularly good, nor accurate, implication to make. Because the thing is people do "understand" Gaga. A lot of people on this forum "understand" Gaga. It's just that they don't like it.

That is the myth they use. Nicki Minaj does it too. That somehow if you dislike something they make or do then you aren't really a true fan and just don't get that they are on some higher level that clearly is beyond your magnitude to understand. And if so, it wasn't targeted to you anyway.

I am really tired of the use of "true fan" as if there or only a select few that can really appreciate the glory that is gaga or minaj. Give me a break.

Oh shut up Gaga. Stop talking/teasing fans with album news when it's not released for a good 6+ months. All it does is wind people up.

Crazy. I personally won't be asking for an iPad for Christmas. I don't like them. I have two Macbooks and an iPod Touch, all of which are far superior to an iPad IMO

See I genuinely don't get the abuse.

Okay, people don't like Lady Gaga which is normal because we all like different things and have different tastes. Human Nature. But why comment on something like this saying "Oh God... it was bad enough when we thought it was just an album!"? It's not like Gaga is running after you in her louboutins throwing ARTPOP copies at you. So why get on like that? If you don't like her or her music, just don't buy it/read about it. It's simple.

She is basically releasing an ARTPOP App along with the hard album. She is doing something modern with it, so fair play. I personally don't mind this idea. Not my cup of tea, but some will love it.

Well surely your implication is just as inaccurate as mine??
I didn't say no one understands her but the fact that people don't get why she can talk about music and videos as part of her craft and art because of the type of music she makes, would suggest that they don't understand gaga.

Also you don't have to understand gaga in order to like her, that is not what I said. But how would you know a lot of people on here understand her?
Just because you think you understand something, doesn't mean u definitely do.

Fair response, but you have to understand that although gagas music might be mindless trash to you, it won't be for others, therefore she shouldn't be attacked for being "pretentious"

Understand what about her? Why do we keep talking about her like she is some rare disease that scientists need to understand so they can find a cure? What should we be understanding? I think it is a lot more simple than people are trying to make it which is why she gets called out for being pretentious.

Attacked? Saying she is pretentious isn't an attack. Her fans telling Adele they wish she gets throat cancer is an attack. Being called pretentious, which isn't even that harsh, is not.

This really pisses me off. Did I say it? Nope and woah, look at that, I am a fan. It was not "Her fans" it was some fake, disgusting, psycho freaks that said that.

Saying her fans doesn't mean that it was all of them. It is a fact that fans of lady gaga wished Adele to have throat cancer. Those are her fans. I never said all of her fans. If the shoe doesn't fit, let it go.
