Shame for Mrs. Biggs - I thought it was good.

You have to wonder how much it's going to drop by in the weeks ahead. WDYTYA could be stronger next week with Hugh Dennis as the subject.

Underwhelming for the return of Mr & Mrs, too. It felt odd seeing it in a midweek slot.

I'd have thought after Sir Patrick Stewart and Annie Lennox that Hugh Dennis is a hell of a drop down.

Mrs Biggs, entirely put off by it to be honest. No interest in hearing any of the human side of that crook's family. Also think Smith should be sticking to musicals. She's better at that or comedy acting.

Dallas would have peaked the curiosity of many, interesting to see what its demographic was as it's just one of those 'things' you've heard about if your a certain age.

Channel 5's Celebrity Big Brother: Live Eviction, which saw the exits of former Coronation Street star Julie Goodyear and someone called Prince Lorenzo, was watched by 1.9 million viewers
Haha.

I think they've been advertising Dallas as a continuation of the original a bit too much perhaps deferring people from tuning in, perhaps some people believe they might not understand whats going on. They should have also concentrated their marketing campaign on the new cast such as Jesse Metcalfe and Jordana Brewster maybe more people would have stuck around who knows

For the person that asked, Dallas was remarkably stable throughout:

21:05 3,149,100 13.51%
21:10 2,932,700 12.63%
21:15 2,841,200 12.27%
21:20 3,121,000 13.34%
21:25 2,881,400 12.52%
21:30 2,908,900 12.66%
21:35 3,022,600 13.23%
21:40 3,002,800 13.32%
21:45 2,473,100 10.92%
21:50 2,836,009 12.44%
21:55 3,045,400 13.64%
22:00 3,164,700 14.94%
22:05 2,932,900 14.30%
22:10 3,050,800 15.14%

Nothing there to suggest there will be a mass switchoff next week. In fact, for a 75 minute opener it held its audience well.

Could C4 have had better ratings, an extra million, if the presentation had been different?

It's not clear when an event's due, the BBC has been better flagging up the times of exciting races.

They must expect the highest rating of the paralympics for athletics tonight at 21:15?
How much is C4 and how much is whoever is providing the live feed (who is that)? I agree that it's really hard to work out when you are going to be able to see particular events, but I've also seen people complaining there's no coverage of the sailing, or the cycling at Brands.

I'm feeling quite generous to C4 for providing as much coverage as they have - I didn't expect to watch much and I've been riveted - and tend to think if they're guilty of anything it's underestimating just how much interest there would be.

How many folks have got it recorded. I certainly have together with Mrs Biggs. Watched BBC1 WDYTYA which was quite poor but you don't know until you watch how good they are going to be. They are so variable.

that was me and thank you very much! Does look stable, as you say. Fingers crossed - I'm going to watch it properly later (as soon as I can tear myself away from all the sport!).

Yes, I have Dallas recorded I was going to watch it live but the fact that it was going to be more than an hour including ads I thought best to Sky+ it

I believe they're repeating Dallas on 5USA, if word of mouth increases then it might get some good ratings, overall I would like to think that Dallas' viewers will increase next week.

Sounds like this is what Stuart Murphy was talking about when he said Sky were looking to develop reality formats akin to Big Brother and others,

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2012...medium=twitter

Think it will be challenging to pull off and turn into a hit.

You could always watch it at 8pm Friday, the poor Ice Road Truckers and their ever Hysteria filled narrator have been exiled to the icy wasteland of the 7pm slot for the week.

Ratings for Doctor Who Asylum Of The Daleks are now up to 8.015m. The final rating will be available on Monday.

Thank you to Trickytree for that one.
Clearly not going to get to 8.5m then.

I see most of the UK will be warm and sunny this weekend - indeed hot in large parts of the BBC-skewing south.

Thanks DMN, all in all - I think he Wednesday line up did alright, wasn't easy competition and I do think All Star Mr and Mrs 'should' grow week on week.

Probably not, but am playing wait and see. Timeshifting evidently has competition throughout the week. It did what was expected on Saturday/Sunday, but on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday has been lower than expected. Just so happens we've seen some of the most competitive nights there.

Not going to match episode 1 of series 6 but it might be a bit more than expected for timeshift viewers tonight and tomorrow to get closer to 8.5 than you'd expect. We'll have to see, whatever happens it'll be interesting.

Ch4 could have done things better but also the Paralympic organisers still have a lot of work to do until the competition is in the same ball park as the Olympics imo.
It's never going to be in the same ball park as the Olympics and that's not the point of it anyway. By its very nature it's going to be of more minority interest. Maybe they could move it to before the Olympics where it might not be overshadowed so much but it can't be directly compared to the world's biggest sporting event. Compared to other disability sport events - and the major events in other Olympic sports like rowing and gymnastics - it is getting huge ratings and exposure.

20:00 - FILM: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: 1.36m (6.1%)
Surely every single person in the UK has now seen this film?

Some odd low ratings last night. The One Show recorded what is surely it's lowest rating and share of the entire year (might be one of it's lowest shares ever) while Emmerdale hasn't been above 6 million once this week.

Well done to Dallas, 3 million is good for a show whose heyday was in 1980 and it shows there's a market for these type of shows.
CBB seems stuck around 2 million. It looks like this is the show's limit and it won't go any higher now.

Not much of interest in the BBC press office update fro the week of 22-28 Sept except for Andrew Marr's History of the World starting Sunday's at 9pm replacing George Gently and providing the Opposition For Downton Abbey. Also the long missing court inflicted BBC4 drama Room at The Top is on that Week (With Jenna -Louise Coleman and Maxine Peake in it)

I think the One Show being an hour impacted the ratings - it probably lost a good chunk of viewers at 7:30pm. Even then, it did rate lower than last week's one hour "Roadshow". I'd have expected it to hold on to about 17-18% share.

Proportionately I think both The One Show and Emmerdale have been hit by the Paralympics and until last night I'd have said Emmerdale was hit harder...

Generally - bit of a night to forget for BBC1 even though it topped the overall share.

And next week Grand Designs returns at 9pm on Channel 4. It's the most competitive timeslot on TV at the moment.
