I wonder if they'd stuck to an normal hour long slot, it may have done over 3m.
Maybe, but I think the break at 9:45 hurt the average the most... I can't remember but does the overnights strip out breaks, or is that only on the officials?

Only officials.

Dallas was unlucky it was in such a competitive slot. It couldve got a million more if it had easy competition. Still, 3million for a Channel5 show is excellent and I think it can continue getting over 2million. And having Dallas does Channel5's brand image a world of good, many people were saying a lot of positive things.

When 5 have had easy competition in the past, shows like The Mentalist have broken the 3m mark. I think if Dallas drops to 2.5m next week, they'll be more than happy but it does depend on the competition.

Anyone have yesterdays Channel 4 Breakfast and Milkshake ratings? Just wondering how much behind Daybreak they are.
I don't have anything for C4, but Milkshake! averaged 156k (3.4%) between 6am and 9.15am. It peaked with 358k (6.2%) for Make Way for Noddy at 7.55am.

Not bad considering this is a very competitive market. Actually 5 have found a niche instead of doing a bad copy of Daybreak.

Milkshake! is a strand to be proud of IMO and should forever remain a key part of what C5 do.

They've just released a lovely looking app for it on Youview as well (separate to the main 'Demand 5' application). Useful for parents, I'm sure.

Does anyone have the ratings for the new CBBC drama 'Stepping Up'? Just want to see how it fares compared to other channels in the same timeslot.

It'd be interesting to see how The Chase has been doing lately.

We rarely get overnights for CBBC. Your best bet will be the CBBC top 10 at www.barb.co.uk when the official data for this week is uploaded a week on Monday.

As for The Chase, overnight ratings for that are published quite frequently at www.attentional.com/screenwatch. They haven't reported any ratings for the new series yet though.

Yes, and also The Wright Stuff is vastly better than This Morning, which to me is worn out.

I think a few years back they were considering a channel but I think it does well enough as a block. They've never been able to quite crack the slightly older kids market.

Both are equally as awful, but they're cheap to produce and gain the target audience both channels are looking for.

I dont know how The Mentalist got over 3million for its launch! Was it promoted a lot by Channel5 or was the shows against it very poor? Channel5 promoted US shows like Once Upon a Time loads and it didnt even get close to 3million, though the ratings its had were good, but how did the Mentalist get so many?!

The competition was dire. Far easier competition than Dallas had last night.

Well, in that case, how about Newsround on BBC1 at 5pm? How has that been doing lately if you have those ratings?

2 THE STORY OF TRACY BEAKER (TUE 1702) /// 292
3 SHAUN THE SHEEP (MON 1847) /// 291
4 TRACY BEAKER RETURNS (MON 1719) /// 290
5 HORRIBLE HISTORIES (WED 0832) /// 288

You know ITV are doing miserably with Daybreak in the mornings when they're only just doubling a kids repeat on a digital channel...

Well, thanks for those

Wonder why the new shows don't rate as much as Tracy Beaker & Sarah Jane Adventures.

If The Voice Kids goes ahead and is shown on this channel, it should pull in some huge ratings (for CBBC).

Just William topped the CBBC chart and the BBC axed it! Madness!

Once the final two regions compete the digital switch-over, BBC1 and BBC2 are changing there line-up. Hope they still promote CBBC while showing Doctors at 4pm on BBC1

I wonder if a few extra adults tuned in to bump up Sarah Jane Adventures. Tracy Beaker has been popular for years. It just connected with its audience.

That's next year isn't it?

Dallas should get over 1 million for the repeat tommorow at 8 PM, there is a lot of buzz and talk about the show today.

Can't find anywhere where it says it was axed.

And to think the original CBBC airings in January 2011 never made the top 10 chart at all!

BBC press office says that Andrew Marrs History of the World is eight episodes and this is going to be against Downton abbey all series. Good luck to it, I say, it'll need it.

not heard one single mention of Dallas, but the spirit of Dallas was in the office today, lots of bitching about absent colleagues. Still I agree 1 million for the repeat is likely.

Didn't realise CBBC repeated Merlin. It grew in the childrens demo last year (it was far too weak there before); could do pretty well this year.
