Do they still show Judge Judy?

Mind you, its daytime schedule is probably in a better shape then Sky1 was a decade ago. Repeat after repeat of talk show nonsense.

Itv is trending on Twitter right now due to a Hillsborough documentary. I know people dont pay much notice to Twitter on here but I hardly see a uk TV channel trending at this time of the night. It might rate better than the normal 1m that time gets.

It could do a bit better than ITV normally have in that slot.
But I don't think ITV trending is too important, not many twitter users will be on to see it in large amounts to switch over; and tbh with something like Hillsborough, there is going to be a lot of chat about it. Its Hillsborough, most of the trend was saying to people to switch to ITV.

As I say, its better than most of what ITV1 might have there, but in the end its competing with a 9/11 doc which started earlier, and Newsnight (these shows will always skew a bit older, Hillsborough has had a lot of attention recently, but also has had other docs on the incident - people are well versed so to speak).

Am not one to get too excited about Twitter, especially this late in the evening (what else is going to trend) and Sky Sports 1 was also trending.

sounds a bit niche too be honest, whilst I do know the events of Hillsborough there is some regionality to it.

Incredible tennis match on Sky Sports 1 tonight. Looking like a late finish (maybe too late for BARB!) but the ratings will be interesting.

Must be getting a decent share, even if the viewer number rating is fairly low. Some of the diving and points being scored are amongst the best Tennis I've ever seen. Wonder if it will rate well on US telly.

Stunning night of tennis in New York. As dramatic as it gets.

Shame it was on so late but hopefully a fair amount of people will have lasted the course!

I guess that's the end of this summer of sport - quite incredible to think that it was only 4 months ago that we had that incredible climax to The Premier League season and everything that has come in between.

They'll all be pulled out of the cupboard and dusted down in 3 months for SPOTY of course! Should be one of the biggest ratings of the year and surely it'll easily be a record for the show itself?

Definitely. Has to be up there with The Ashes in Australia as one of Sky Sports 1's highest viewing figures.

They've got an astonishing cast list. I doubt there'll ever be another one like it. It should do well, back in it's rightful Sunday slot on the 16th December. It needs to after last years very limp performance in the weekday slot and the general underwhelming feeling of it being back in a TV studio.

They could do with 3 hours, to be honest. They must be considering it - it'll be a bit of a slog, but otherwise they'll wind up skipping over people who, in any other year, could win the bloody thing!

I agree; they could run it 7-10pm, and move CF and AR earlier or to another day, if they're still running that close to Xmas anyway.

Well, that's another issue, and I certainly don't see the point of the sixth episode of Emmerdale, they only do it because they can and it doesn't seem at all logical, especially if they're not going to show it six days a week. There are too many episodes of soaps, but if they're going to stick with the current rate I'd rather have them spread throughout the week than crammed in on a couple of nights. It looks like ITV is just all soaps when there's only one more Corrie and one more Emmerdale than there was in 2000.

I've got the Edinburgh TV Festival book from 1997 which interviews Marcus Plantin just before he leaves ITV and he says "we are at the maximum delivery of network soaps" - at a time when they had four Corries and three Emmerdales a week.

That was really hung out to dry, it didn't have a big name star and it didn't have much of a hook. That would be the kind of drama they would previously have flung out one quiet Sunday night alongside Heartbeat or something, or on a football-free Wednesday night. It proves again lead-ins count for next to nothing, anyway.

And to bring your two points together Steve, the main reason ITV have scheduled soaps like that is to draw EE's audience away, but as we've seen, a Corrie or ED lead-in is practically useless, unless there is something on straight after which is (a) worth watching or (b) a good fit for the demo.

BARB cuts off at 02:00, so we should get the majority of the Murray rating soon.

Yikes, up about 700k week-on-week!

That's a terrific rating up against EastEnders.

Super rating for Paul O'Grady, looks like ITV have a hit on their hands here! May well break 5m at some point in the next few weeks.

Pointless won the teatime gameshow war yesterday with 2.52m.

Panorama held a decent 3.52m for the episode 'Old, Drunk and Disorderly?'

The athletes parade averaged 2.3m on BBC1 yesterday afternoon (don't have a peak figure).

A week after its latest relaunch, Daybreak is still stuck on 600,000.

Not good. The equivalent episodes in both 2010 and 2011 had 800k. It's going backwards!
