He may not have lied at all. It depends what tariff you are on, and what the call type is ie orange/orange, orange/other UK Networks etc.

You need to post more info.

Then he probably mis-understood what you were after, especially as you are already aware of the orange/orange costs.

In any case the info you were after is available via the orange website.

I was after the costs to 05511 numbers.

I said it says 35p on the website, he says its 20p, it was 35p a while ago

Sean2003, you seem a bit confused first you say:

I know Orange to Orange is 20 peak, 10 offpeak.

and i asked for landlines which is 35p peak, 10p offpeak
then you say:

I was after the costs to 05511 numbers.
The 05511 numbers are non-geographic.

No wonder the bloke at orange gave you an incorrect answer! And if you knew the cost why were you phoning Orange to ask?

The guy said 05511 was same as standard landline calls. Which he said are 20p peak 10p offpeak

As barry said, you need to give us more info. Not just drip information out in your replies. I'm no fan of Orange customer service, at all. But if your question was half as muddled as your replies on this thread its no wonder you got a "wrong" answer.

Incidentally, surely the quickest way to find out whether he was correct would be to make a short call and see how much it costs? You'll soon find out whether he lied to you. If he did I would write and complain, you might get a goodwill gesture.

I did make a call, and was charged 35, not 20 as the man said.

Sorry to have it muddeled.... Been rushing around today
