Is anyone else getting rather hooked on some of the american soaps and comedy series shown on abc1 during the day on freeview.
What with General Hospital which i have to say is a really good soap, i think they started to show it at just the right moment with the big fire that explained quite alot of the characters.
Some thing else i'm really enjoying is Moonlighting. I'm sure this has been on a different UK channel in the past as it was shot in the 80's but now it's on daily it's getting really good.
The comedy as well i some how feel is alot better than some of the onedy shows over here. I must say thought with the comedy shows rather than the soaps, or continueing drama as you'd call moonlighting i do get a bit fed up of the amount of times they repeat the different episodes.
In the last few weeks since theres been no replays on ITV2 during the day cos of get me out of here live action i've been watching abc1 most of the time.

I was quite excited by the prospect of stuff like Moonlighting, General Hospital etc on abc. However I have hardly watched any of it - the problem is, it takes too much commitment to watch these every day - most of them are hour-long series. So I don't get into them because I know I would either not be able to keep up, or would end up slack-jawed in front of the tv all day. And then when would I get the chance to post on here

I tried a couple of the comedy shows but stuff like Ellen and 8 Simple Rules leaves me cold - the only one I find watchable is Home Improvement.

Just got into watching 8 Simple Rules and Sportsnight on ABC1, both are great in my view. The only thing that bothers me about ABC1 is the strange breaks, eg within a couple minutes of the show starting and the break with about two minutes left.

I first started watching ABC1 because of Home Improvement, then I started watching 8 Simple Rules as it was on straight after Home Improvement. Just got into watching Moonlightning a few weeks ago as I was off ill so I thought I'd try watching something other than the usual rubbish that is on.

Moonlighting - sounds raunchy. I wonder if it stars Cybil Shepherd?

If you dont want to watch everyday, the weekend episodes are being shown in order so if you only watched at the weekend you wouldnt miss an episode.

Definetely one of the best channels on freeview now. Ellen is quite funny, GH is quite hilarious, 8 simple rules is brilliant (shame the one who played the dad died after filming just one series), Geena Davis Show is pathetic, Home improvement is ok. Anyone tell me what they think of the other shows I haven't mentioned as I haven't watched them properly.

Yeah, he was talented. Even his expression in the opening titles as he slams the door sneeringly is hilarious. I only found out about the poor guy's death when I was browsing the disney site (I was bored) and found 8 simple rules is shown on that channel as well so for anyone who has sky or cable you can see the programme on that channel instead.

Anyway I found as I was brousing the details that the Paul Hennesey character had to be killed off for the obvious reason we now know and found that the series is countinuing without him. Cate's dad and one of her nephews take over as regular characters. Don't know when we'll see that on abc1 but its probably not as good without him now anyway.
