Wok on seems to be Gok's catch phrase.

I know the series of Gok Cooks Chinese was originally broadcast in May - but I've recently watched the repeat and loved each episode.

I really enjoy the fact that we see each stage of Gok's prep and cooking without the banter and others (guests) talking over him that we experience in so many cookery programmes.

His recipes work and as for his father Poppa Wan - he should have a programme of his own.

Before opening the thread, I thought you might have been referring to Wokon, a noddles bar in Leeds that has just opened a branch in Islington. I have used the Leeds branch 4 or 5 times now as it is quite tasty.

Never seen him cook before - didn't know his family were in the restaurant business.

I recorded most of the series (missed the first couple of episodes) and fully intend to give his recipes and techniques a go.

I really did find Gok Cooks Chinese one of the most informative cookery programmes I've watched.

Ching He Hung says it too.

I guess it's a TV phrase.
