Yes, he did, which led to one of John Lennon's better quips. On the first Beatles tour of the USA Elvis kept on sending them great gifts, but would not deign to be there in person. Lennon said something like "Great, but where's Elvis."

On the second tour, when the Beatles had achieved the impossible and were bigger than Elvis, he finally invited them to Graceland. Sadly, the figure they met was not the dynamic fellow of earlier years. Lennon said, "Great, but where's Elvis."

I think this is an urban myth, although it's a funny quip. In any case, they didn't meet at Graceland, but at Elvis' home in California.
