Cast Iron Sainsburys or Le Creuset
I've recently bought a large, deep casserole pot, skillet and rectangular roaster from Sainsburys cast iron range. I bought them on offer for about £50, full price would have been around £90.
Le Creuset cast iron would obviously be much more expensive but are you paying for brand or more quality for Le Creuset? Will I be able to hand down my cheapo Sainsburys gear to my kids or will they not last beyond Xmas? |

You are paying for the brand name as you suggest.
Sainsburys cookware lasts ages. I have pans and a frying pan from them and they have lasted me more than 16 years and are still going strong. |

Cast iron shouldn't degrade, infact it should get better with natural seasoning.
