I actually laughed out loud when Fred switched on the hanging turkey! Candice remains hilarious with ideas above her station - i love the way they are developing her character this way and Nikki Sanderson (like Sally Whittaker) is pulling out all the stops to make her lines as funny as possible.
Also thought Roy and Hayley's coin-boiling argument was fantastic, as was Karen's decision to call the baby Leonardo - "If its good enough for Tony Blair's kid, its good enough for ours!" Blanche outshined them all though with her short, snippy comments about the plastic Christmas tree! Roll on 830! |

How funny is Candice. She tucked into a big bowl of Xmas Pud in the cafe (with custard) then went back to the Salon and told Audrey and Maria that she's watching her figure

V. funny eppy overall, the Maria/Tyrone plot is seriously tired now though.

Loved Blanche's line about Amy being the first child near the Christmas tree, since the child who made it.

I really enjoyed Corrie tonight. Lots of great little storylines all going on without any major drama. Loved Blanche's lines about the Xmas tree

I agree - an excellent couple of episodes. I laughed, and even shed a bit of a tear when Audrey was talking to Maria about her & Alf.
And dare I say it (I know most people disagree), I thought Blanche was very funny, without having to have Wanda in tow |

I can't see how tyrone and maria suit eachother. She is TOTALLY a different character to the person she was. He's a nice bloke, but comeon they are like chalk and cheese as far as romances go. And he comes across as a bit dim and irritating, or maybe it's just the way he acts?
But there characters aside, do you think it's true what Audrey says, that you can grow to love back the not too exciting, not very attractive man who loves you? Ok, now I'm taking romantic advice from a soap character..! |

Ok, now I'm taking romantic advice from a soap character..! I do think confidence, personality and nature are more important than surface looks. For example in Corrie, Jason and Jamie are the most attractive physically to me but I could easily see how I would like a guy who is like Ashley or Tyrone just as much, because of who they are. I did enjoy the episodes but did anyone think that one episode would have been enough? These 2 episodes on a Monday are becoming tiresome when nothing happens.

Regarding Freds shop, I know it's all done as a plot device, but a tax inspector can not legally just turn up at your business and demand to see the books. The Revenue have to write to you and your accountant to tell you they are starting an investigation and arrange a suitable time and place to see your books. You can arrange it at your accountants office if it's easier or deliver the items to the tax office, and you would certainly not arrange for it to happen whilst your accountant was on his hols!!
Things like this just annoy me slightly, Corrie should realise that some of its viewers are accountants too and will notice when they haven't done their research!! |
