Why wouldn't she? With all due respect to both Jessie Wallace and Jamie Foreman, neither of them are the most stunningly beautiful people on Earth and I don't consider either to be particularly out of the other's league. If I saw them walking down the street in the real world I wouldn't find them an odd pairing at all.

Besides, sex isn't always about simple attraction or prettiness; especially for somebody who has serious issues and complexes regarding sex, which Kat obviously does.

I think Wallace is a moderately attractive woman, but I was talking about Kat; and I don't think Kat is particularly out of Derek's league. As I said, if I saw them walking down the street as a couple in the real world I wouldn't gape in astonishment wondering how he'd got himself such a catch.

I don't get the shallow indignation some people seem to feel in regards to the idea of Kat 'lowering herself' to sleeping with Derek. If she was played by a young Vivien Leigh and regularly displayed exceptionally high standards in her choice of sexual partner, I might understand. As it is - I don't.
