The post I replied to said "why would Kat go with Derek?", to which I replied "Why wouldn't she?", before adding "With all due respect to both Jessie Wallace and Jamie Foreman" as I was not talking about either of them personally, at which point I returned to talking about Kat and Derek when I said "neither of them are the most stunningly beautiful people on Earth".

Even if I had been talking about Jessie Wallace or Jamie Foreman on a personal level when I said that neither of them were the most 'stunningly beautiful people on Earth' - what would that matter? They're not. That would merely be an observation.

Regardless, I'll thank you not to tell me what I am or am not talking about in the future.

Am I the only person who thinks Derek or the actor who plays him is not that bad looking - at least not as bad as some of the nasty comments on here suggest just cos he's big. If it is him I can see how Kat would be attracted to him because to her, he's charming and funny and probably makes her feel like a princess (so does Alfie but in a different way). Kat's not stupid, she know's about his violent aggressive side but he's different with her and she may secretly like that he's bad because Alfie's so good.

Kat is stupid. Alfie is a good man, and she shouldn't be shagging other men, never mind falling in love with them. It doesn't matter if Alfie's a plonker, he doesn't deserve this crap from Kat.

I had previously been convinced that it was Michael but that theory was blown when it was revealed that the story would run long after Janine's departure. No way would be Michael if Janine was gone - unless her disappearance is a mystery, which I don't think it is going to be?

So, the Mail has kind of sealed it for me, it has to be Derek, adding more suspects to an ultimate whodunnit of some sort. Derek is this Autumn's Ben. Everything will be Derek. Wonder if that is why Tyler has been kept on in order to be another suspect? Not saying Tyler will do anything though.

And those feet and hand looked like they didn't belong to Derek(you would have thought they would at least try and make it look like the person's hand or feet). And why would Alfie act like Derek is a mate, he hates the man, he ripped him off.

The Mail didn't claim they knew who the mystery guy was, but that a suspect would be eliminated on Friday making the mystery lover a Branning. That doesn't seem to be unreasonable. The guess of Derek, is this forum's guess although I don't see how writing I love you isn't beyond Derek. Derek would likely use such an emotional sentiment as a form of control - to mess with Kat's head and to get at Alfie through that. And Alfie acts friendly with nearly everyone - even MM these days - the man who had an affair with his wife. So, I don't think it's beyond Alfie to be friendly with Derek. The feet and hands are from extras - so anything there is likely to be a red herring not to be red much into.

True. It would have been better, IMO, if they had not been brought back - they used to be so happy together, Kat and Alfie - rather than have this storyline.

In other words they are trying to say that they know it's a Branning as the only other suspect is Michael. Whose to say it won't be Derek ruled out on Friday and not Michael. Also Derek is not the whole of this forum's opinion it's just some people's guess not everyone's.

1. Because Michael's not a Branning. If it can only be a Branning after Friday, then MM would have to be the one ruled out because he's the only non-Branning there. If it's not him, then that leaves the possibility of the mystery guy not being a Branning thus contradicting the DM's statement.

I think it's more of a strong desire on some people's part They do not want it to be anyone nice because Kat does not deserve it to be.
They want her lover to be sleazy and unpleasant with a history of violence towards women, they want her in the gutter, homeless, her child taken away etc etc.
I have to say I've never seen such a strong reaction to an affair.

It's also in the Radio Times page 108. It says the field has been narrowed to the Branning Brothers. I doubt the Radio Times would be wrong. I read this on Friday and was gutted. Does no one else read the Radio Times here? I'm surprised no one has noticed it (it went on sale last Tuesday).

I cant see the attraction myself, and i would never call Derek charming (though at times he can be funny) but most of the time his a slimy toad.
Anyway Kat married she shouldnt be shagging anyone except for Alfie and if she doesnt love Alfie she should tell him instead of doing the 'dirty' with another guy then acting like the victim when she found out.
