I dunno whether there is gonna be a cast shakeup at Eastenders but i hope Fatboy isnt axed at all. People on here complain he is useless and a spare part but i think its good that the show has more background characters. Not every character has to be involved in huge blockbuster stories. Take Corrie, a character like Kirk has never had much to do but is still with the show after at least 10 years. Its important EE keep hold of the likes of Fats and Mo as they provide a bit of a relief and for me can still serve a purpose without having to be at the centre of everything, I think his character does have a good fanbase and i would like to see him with Poppy as they would make a good couple.

I quite like Fatboy, but all his big storylines have pretty much ended with him getting his heart broken, and they were all tedious. So I do agree with you.

*incoming shitstorm*

You are right though, but the people here wouldn't be happy unless every teenager on it was gay and Christian and Syed got 20 minutes of screen time in every episode.

I like Fatboy, a genuinely nice guy who was treated like crap by whitney, his always willing to help others. So i wouldnt want to see him axed.

Fatboy is OK even if he does spout gibberish far too often.
I would keep him but tone him down. Mo should die as soon as possible. A nasty vile character.

Agree with this .

I do like Fatboy as well (especially after the way he was sympathetic toward Jay unlike Saint Lauren), but he does seem to get overlooked by the other teens quite often and left to play comedy sidekick to everyone. I much prefer him to the whiners such as Lauren, Whitney and Lucy to be honest. And Joey and Tyler. I think they should give Fatboy one or two serious storylines to give him a balance, because he might get stale from constantly being comedic.

...as long as it doesn't end in him getting rejected by a girl again, I'd agree with that!

Yes, Fatboy should get a serious SL, but im not sure what serious SL i would give him. (i thought he was good with the whole Whitney/Rob SL, so i think he can handle serious stuff and show his not just a one-dimensional character.)
I would like to see him with Poppy.

Lol yeah, I don't think anyone wants a repeat of the Mercy storyline again . That was painfully bad .

I hate how the EE writers treat some male characters in regards to their love lives. Fatboy seems to have trouble even getting a girl to go out with him and guys like Max for Christ's sake have attractive women jumping on his lap .

The message of EE seems to be: If you are an alpha male/hardman, then you will have women falling at your feet no matter how unattractive you are. And if you are just a regular decent bloke, you will get no women even if you look like a male supermodel.

Haha, they would also be lovely and sweet couple, (but not in a cringey way that anthony and alice were.)

Yeah, I liked Fatboy during the Whitney/Rob plot. He supported Whitless so well throughout that plot, which made her betrayal of him even more distasteful.

I agree, I think Fatboy has been able to handle the serious stuff when called upon to, but I don't have a clue what kind of storyline they could give him. I guess they could delve further into his backstory and his relationship with his ex-banker dad. Maybe we can find out why Fatboy always hides under this comedy facade (because nobody is that cheery in real life!) and learn about his tough childhood in the estate he grew up in... or something. Just a suggestion.

A Poppy and Fatboy relationship would be interesting. But I'd prefer him with Alice. I think they'd be kind of funny and awkward. But then again, that means Derek and Joey sticking their noses in every two seconds, so I'm not sure.

Yeah, that was just BAD. Fatboy and Poppy would be good because they're both competent actors and do comedy well.

They could delve further into his backstory, but apart from that, I too am stumped. There's not much to do with him, is there? I do agree with the OP a way, and I suppose one of the reasons he's used as the comic relief is because they have no clue where to take him. But like you I think he needs to be developed somehow.

That would be a good SL, looking into his childhood etc (they would have to recast the father i didnt like the other one)
I rather Alice not get into any relationships, Derek and joey would get involved too much and just make Fatboy life a misery which would annoy me. I dont know any girl who would allow their dad to come on their date with them and i dont think their dad would ever come, its just weird and uncomfortable for both daughter and father. (my dad certainly wouldnt want to come and i would never let him)

True. Yeah, there's not much you can do with him. What if he became the new King of the Square?

Yeah, Fatboy's dad was a horrendous actor with all due respect to him. Definitely needs a recast. Might be funny if they cast a comedy actor as his dad.

I agree about Alice. Maybe when Derek is inevitably killed off and Joey leaves, Fatboy and Alice can have a toad-free relationship together

Yeah, Ashley Chubb was DIRE  Such a miserable guy, he's like the anti-Fatboy!

If Derek dies and Joey swims away, we have a toad-free Square too

Lol @ anti-Fatboy. Alfie seems more like Fatboy's dad. More or less the same personalities.

May our toad-free wishes come true

If he slides more in to the background and is a character like Mo great, they know her place, never give her her own storyline and use her appropriately, but they keep giving Fatboy a lot of screen time and personally i could do without him.

Are they just going to keep aging him down and getting him to play with whoever the current teen cast as? I mean when he joined was Lauren like 13/14? o.o Maybe she was older but it was just that Maddie looked so young? He just hasnt aged or grown or developed in any way since he joined and is too much of a cartoon to do the more serious storylines IMO...
