XFactor ratings fell to 7.7million viewers yesterday, the worst in many years.

What's going on? People said yesterday the edit was so much better. But the audiences arent responding, its getting like 3million fewer viewers than last year

But these figures are in part a reaction to the poor shows in the past few weeks. Last night's (vast) improvement might have an effect tonight/next week. Weather was great again too, but even so, it ain't great by any stretch of the imagination even allowing for all of that.

Lol because the panel is dull. Gary, tuloozzzzza  Louis. When Kelly was there atleast there was personality and the ratings were up or more orless the same as the previous year at this point.

Not that surprising considering how comparatively dead the forum seemed yesterday

Just maybe, people have had enough of parading the gullible like some victorian tour of an asylum, its not really entertainment, and they , up to last night, have shown more of them than the actual talent.

Judges Houses and the lives are really where the show kicks off. if it makes everyone have a rethink of the format for next time , just maybe oits for the best.

the show isnt the same without simon

also the chopping and changing of the 4th judge hasnt helped
they shoulda had a 4th regular from the start or kept it at 3 judges....having different people (esp ex spice girls) is super annoying

7.7 Million? That's Big Brother's standard...well it was in the final years of the show.

Yeah, I think if the lives get 7.7 or 8.2 then the producers will worry. The auditions just aren't 'must see' anymore.

And it is quiet - even the news of Cheryl returning hasn't exactly set the forum on fire. I think people just don't care anymore. When you look at the buzz around her Ross appearance - when you actually watch it, she's dull. And I think that's how Judges Houses is going to be. Her and Gary are hardly Mr. & Mrs. Personality

And when you think - BGT was getting very good ratings only months ago.

I really think people want Simon back full time. Like him or hate him - there's just something about him that makes the show more 'must see'. Although I like Gary and Tulisa (I know I'm in the minority) - they don't know how to create the same buzz. I don't mean publicity stunts - I'm not interested in those - I just mean simply, you want to hear what Simon has to say about the contestants.

His return (and the addition of David and Alesha too) really gave BGT a boost.

I'd love that to happen - but with XFUSA, there's no way he could. Unless, as another poster suggested recently, they filmed the show in the US.

do you no what for a viewer Im not caring about the ratings that's the producers who can worry about that. However I have to say the acts I have seen so far they are of a great quality in terms of talent, really varied bunch of artists and singers for all ages. So I think once bootcamp comes and the colder darker nights come in more people will be watching it

the viewing figures for x factor are still healthy, even if they are down. However, x factor peaked a few years ago, in terms of viewers and the reality of TV land is that when that happens, there's only one way and show can possibly go thereafter.

its not the end of x factor but I think it is the beginning of the end. every show has a shelf life and I think xfactor is slowly on the way out. no doubts there's a few years left in it, but the glory days have gone

but lower ratings for this week are a response to the bad shows in previous weeks, so even with a return to form, a lot of people probably couldn't be arsed anymore after how aweful the last few shows were and therefore didn't bother tuning in.

What you said. Sticking it out for the previous dreadful weeks made me not bother with last night's show.

A lot of people are recording it now, then watching it later - that is what I did. I watched the end of Dr Who first.

FWIW I thought this week was a massive improvement over the previous weeks - some decent acts too. They shoudl have spread the decent acts over previous weeks, and shown more of each performance.

Simon, Cheryl and Dannii are missing.... its not rocket science. The fodder on the stage are the same year in year out.....the panel that created that magic are gone....simples. Its a real pity that the US version clashes with the UK one... Simon is badly needed back.

A big fan of the show until last years first live show. The live shows were a let down on previous years, in terms of talent and excitement. First year since its launched, I have not been interested.
