If Ian was "strategically clueless" please tell me why Dan spent several weeks openly envying Ian's "golden" positioning, playing between the QP and Froogie? Not to mention being so valuable that Dan volunteered to be his meatshield when the sh!t hit the fan.
You complain about the "magic veto ball", but that was won by open (apart from Frank) competition. Since Ian saw how desperate Dan was, threatening to rat him out to Frank and trying to intimidate the other players, he knew he had to win it and did.
Ian may have "bored" you, that's not my concern, but he was far from clueless.
