Hi, we are experiencing problems with i-tunes at the moment. We had to send our computer back for repair as the hard drive went. When we got it back and tried to log onto i-tunes, we encounted some problems. We typed in our apple ID and our password, but it always came up password was incorrect. When we changed it, i-tunes didn't recognise it. After struggling for ages with this, I gave up. I eventually found an email address for itunes and they explained that apple were not letting anybody change their password, for some legal reason. Still can't use itunes and am waiting for them to get back to me. The last comment was that "there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel". Not their exact words - this is it translated into English.

Is anyone else having probelms with itunes, or are we just unlucky???

are you saying that itunes support replied to you in a language other then English?
if so then i doubt you were speaking to itunes support, as they use English in all communications.

i suspect you've been speaking to a bogus company and i hope you haven't given them any personal details!

you can easily reset your apple id password at https://iforgot.apple.com

I've logged in ok, but i'm having problems syncing podcasts lately. The podcasts are downloaded and show up in the Library, but fail to sync over.

Is there a general i-Tunes server problem?

I wish Apple would spend less time on cameras and more time on i-Tunes, the database is crap and looks 'old hat'.

you mean they don't sync from your local itunes library to your mobile device?

if yes then it has nothing to do with itunes servers.

I can't figure out why it's doing it. The i-Pod is connected and shows up in the left pane.

it's not related to this thread though, so might be better making your own one so the OP gets the advice they need rather than it being clogged up with differente discussions

Yeah, thought it might be connected to the OPs problem in a way. General problems.

the OP has a password issue and/or an issue where they can't log in to the itunes store - you don't appear to have that issue.

you say though that the email wasn't written in english?
this does not sound right at all in terms of itunes support.

have you tried using the iforgot website? that lets you reset the password. have you made sure you are using the correct appleid/username? (in both the iforgot site and itunes client).

Have tried iforgot website but it won't let me reset and have put in correct username etc, the e-mail was in English the wording they used more or less meant there was light at the end of the tunnel and they would be in touch with a solution

If you haven't resolved this yet, did you try following the procedure on the apple.com web site to get support? You start off by selecting your country from the drop-down on the maion Apple home page, then click on Support, then in the box for Contact Apple Support click on Get Started, choose iTunes, choose iTunes Store, then Account Management and so on...

I had to do this a couple of years ago after losing a password and it resulted in a long phone call to Apple UK, clearly the customer support guy was working to a script but he did resolve the problem over the phone.

I had a similar problem with books. The showed in recently purchased. The problem was solved by dragging and dropping the book into where it showed my phone. You just drag it until a line goes across you name or the name of the phone/ipod and then let go. Sometimes I have to do this and sometimes it just does it automatically. Sorry to all i-Tunes fans, I think -Tunes is a buggy and unfriendly program that needs serious attention from Apple.

LOL, I don't know anyone who could be classed as a fan of iTunes. It's *awful*...

It is finally getting an overhaul in October, though...
