It is heavily edited. How do you know they didn't ask all those questions?

Because, with a lack of anything meaninful to say - apart from the usual 'let us rip you and your ideas off' - the Dragons would be expected to ask these simple questions.

Depends if there is a patent on it I suppose and if they really do have exclusive usage in the UK as they suggested.
Not too sure why they got so much interest. Their track record of advertising wasn't probed at all, at least not shown in the edit. Degrees don't = successful businesses. And as Peter said.. what is the advertising worth? Yes a bike going around with a video on it's wheel will at first attract attention but once you've seen one.. you've seen them all surely. |

That brush thing is also ridiculous as it might reach up to your picture rail or coving but unless they are the same colour you are never going to cut in a steady line with a brush on a stick!
So you will have to get up there on a ladder! |

That's not on! Isn't Peter trading industrial secrets there by telling her inside info on another company?

Not sure why students would want to sign up to a site which is effectively a football league and scores based on some secret formula behind the scenes. Whatever happened to discovering hidden talent or taking a chance on someone based on what happened in an interview? Surely unless you're a 110% top student with sky high perfect grades and ticking all the 'right boxes', you're going to be disadvantaged because you won't even get a look in.
Ok I can understand why that benefits some employers who want only the best of the best to work for them but for the 99% other people on the website they're just going to be making up the numbers. |

You could make the point about the traditional job search process. Pretty obviously it's to replace the application stage and not the interviews. I'm an underemployed graduate and I know that employers are flooded with applications - anything that makes the process easier for employers will benefit graduates going for jobs they are suited to.
I can see the point of the idea and perhaps it will make life easier for everyone. But to me it just seems like a system to make sure the top 1% get the best jobs and make sure the best companies don't have to spend any time looking for the top 1%. Maybe i'm being far too harsh. It's been a long time since i've applied for a job and i'm not a graduate. |

My guess is that's part the reason he bought into her idea. He's a canny businessman and she presented her idea excellently. |

He's also old and wise enough to know about NDAs and not to break them, obviously what he shared wasn't under one, think he was slyly saying that this info was out there and really she should have already picked up on it herself.

I thought it was a good ep tonight.
I really didn't understand the bike advertising. Peter Jones was talking sense. The guy with the sheds was a sly dog! Glad they caught him out. The barrister with the website was clearly intelligent but i'm really not sure a website like hers would work. I wouldn't use it. The make-up lady seemed pretty nice but i couldn't see it making a lot of money. Once again Duncan made no offers and invested in nothing. I really think it's time he left for pastures new and gets replaced for the next series. We already know Hilary is leaving after this series, time he left as well. |

I thought Dupsy's surname was familiar when she introduced herself and the moment she mentioned her father had a score of businesses and that he died just before he was due to be released, I realised she's a daughter of M.K.O. Abiola, who's still regarded as a national hero across Nigeria and neighbouring countries. A well deserved label, most would say. Do look him up. |

Didn't know that Hilary is leaving so soon. I much prefer James Caan anyway, but do feel a little sorry for her that she seems to be making offers and not many (if any?) people are taken them up.

Well, after a restless night's sleep (or lack of it) due to excessive pillow-slippage (why can't someone solve that probl...oh hang on!) ...
Quick question - When the flicks eyeliner lady was on, Deborah said she didnt believe in that product alone, and implied she would be interested in further ideas, but couldnt invest for that reason (i.e. the flicks being the idea pitced) yet when the bike boys came along they pretty much got the investment based on their potential, the bike idea itself being pretty much rubbished So what's the craic? Are the dragons supposed to only invest in the idea being pitched or was that just Deborah getting out of it?

I've never had Pillow 'Slipage'...
![]() I'm sure the Flick Tips woman talked more then Dupsy, but she got told to stop talking...Dupsy's story, for me, was a bit much....but she got the deal. I got the Ads on Bike wheels thing, I think....but Peter dismissing it because it would be hard to see, because the bike goes by fast, has never seen Billboards on the side of the road....were cars drive by. And Lens Huts, was a joke, didn't deserve the 10 minutes airtime. |

But when that bike stops or slows down, I think the picture disappears. (And I didn't quite understand who would be riding the bike. For £700 (?), you could tow a trailer behind a bike with a proper advertising poster. You could see it when it was stopped or parked too!) |
