I get the feeling that Nick is looking for a very particular kind of investment opportunity

An on-line greeting card company perhaps? 😁

That Touker guy is so rude the way he just talks over people when he doesn't agree with what he wants to hear.

Can someone feed Evan something quickly before his spindly legs snap like dry twigs under the weight of his skeletal torso? Seriously he's like a L. S. Lowry figure come to life.

for me this show is now entering the 'too much of a good thing' category, i used to love it and really look forward to it, i now find myself getting increasingly bored with it but when you consider you're basically watching the same 5-10 mins of telly over and over and over again that's maybe no great surprise.

not enough silly ideas for me now e.g. 'i'm looking for £100k investment for 2% of my business making square wheels for use on mars'

and i agree the way the show is now edited spoils it.

I'm a tad late to the party, but I've got t few thoughts on last nights show.

Debs flying off the handle was a bit of a suprise, but I guess I can see her point. I know they do do team-ups, but it's usually down to the dragons to offer it or the pitcher to suggest it once they have all the offers. It was a bit harsh but it was possible that she took it as a slap in the face that she, alone, wasn't good enough. Even more harsh to keep that stance once the woman appologised and tried to explain herself.

The car app. That's something that car manufacturers are already doing for themselves, phone based apps that can lock, locate, start the car, turn on the heating, tell you how much fuel you have. The only thing they don't do is to turn the radio on (why you want that in an empty car is beyond me) and to code new keys, and that's probably down to security.

I also thought Touka was being an arse with the makeup lady. It sounded like he wanted to sideline her and get his minions to do it all. I think Sarah played that one right.

The chocolate blokes, I can see why they wanted to stay up in Scotland, but they didn't go into much detail about their new premisis. That could have increased production, made hiring easier and made them more investible, but it wasn't expanded upon.

I hate the 'coming up' segment, it's just pointless and often gives the game away. I like that they have more reactions from the pitchers afterwards.

Enjoying this series though Nick looks and comes over as a character straight out of a Harry Enfield sketch - "ya I love it you 've given it your all and with me on board we can really go places....I'm out!"

Those chocolate men looked as if they could do with a rocket up their behinds because that business has moved so slowly in 9 years - I think the location issues were an excuse.

As for the hat it was nothing more than a glorified "rain mate" that OAPs in Scotland wear when it comes on a shower!

It's a bit of both. Sometimes a dragon offers half of the money intentionally to try and get a double dragon combo going. But sometimes the pitcher suggests it. And usually the dragons will either consider it or they state they don't want to go in with another dragon.

However on this occasion Deborah seems to have gone OTT and taken severe offence to it. Which was uncalled for imho. Sarah was umming and ahhing over it. All the pitcher did was suggest they go in together. Why Deborah then decided to take it as if they'd insulted her entire family I've no idea. The lady was in tears over it. All Deborah had to say was "No sorry I'm not interested in sharing this one".

As I said last night.. I sense that the Dragons have been told to spice things up a bit. Theres been a few overly dramatic moments for me this series.

As always, we don't know what ended up "on the cutting room floor"; Deborah and the gluten woman might already have disagreed that we don't know about

Actually i thought the car security man came into the category that we all love "bloke who's lived in his shed for 17 years who has produced bugger-all and/or a totally crackpot idea and wants his losses financed. How to make a small fortune - start with a big one"

Do people really use the term "life partner" when introducing their other half? Thought it was odd when the narrator introduced the gay couple at the end as being such.
I thought that was cringey when he said that.

Has anyone actually ever chosen Touker when there was more then one dragon to choose. No one seems to want him at all. Its understandable.
I didn't like Toukers comments about gluten free food. He reckons he is now gluten free but I'm guessing it's a choice not a necessity. I have two friends who are coeliac and gluten free and they are really ill if they eat gluten, so for them these foods would have been interesting.

Re Nick's "I've been gluten free for a year", I don't understand why people who don't have celiac disease (I'm assuming of course that he doesn't) eat gluten free diets, what's the point?

I thought that Deborah Meaden behaved childishly by withdrawing her offer after the lady jumped the gun, thought that she was getting another offer, and that she had the opportunity to get two dragons involved. A quite understandable error from someone nervously making their first appearance on TV. Deborah, on the other hand, is a professional broadcaster and should know better! I felt so sorry for the couple.
Agreed. I usually like Deborah, but she just looked like a bit of a fool there. I suspect she changed her mind and was looking for a way out.

He doesn't come across as particularly pleasant, I'm not sure I'd want to be in business with him. And last night he was almost asset stripping with his '50% and I control the company, you just blog' offer.

I really wish someone would tell Evan to shut up. We're watching the programme, we don't need to be told that Deborah made an offer a second after Deborah makes an offer. It's taking 'previously on the Gift Shop Sketch' to a whole new level.

As far as I can tell no benefits at all, unless you like less tasty food. And of course he isn't really gluten free if he is as cavalier about it as that, saying how easy it is. He didn't seem to realise how serious it is for celiacs who must avoid gluten.

I don't like Deborah much (she's OK on the "what happened next" programmes), so most of what she does in the Den I find annoying. But this was a contrived hissy fit over nothing. Yes it was cheeky to hint at the idea but she could have ignored it if she really wanted to invest.

My guess is that the Dragons are encouraged to behave like this every now and then to add a bit of drama. As Dragons they have to breathe a bit of fire occasionally. In reality, no one with an eye for a profit would turn down the chance to make money over such a mild offence.

I don't think he's unpleasant, I quite like him as a Dragon actually. But he totally misread the situation. He thought she had no interest in running the business and was offering that service for a 50% stake. I think he was genuinely sorry about it.

Abso-bloody-lutely. Evan stating of the blindingly obvious just before or just after it happens is getting increasingly annoying. It's also very patronising.

Yes, eye-watering, but OK for a special treat. If it's as good as they all said it was then it's probably worth it. It's a luxury product in great demand.

I didn't get the problem about them being on a remote island. Wherever they are based they will be remote from somewhere. Of course they will need to get out and about and knock on doors, but travel is not barrier these days. Unless they want to be back home for dinner together every night.

The best thing is...he isn't actually in the Den any more since they moved to Manchester! He probably rocks up to the studio once they've finished the entire series recording, spends the day filming
some links then buggers off back to London!

Hence why you don't seem him talk to the candidates any more like he used to in the earlier series

It's not just them though, if they want to expand then they need to employ more people. If people can't get to their factory then they will have trouble getting workers. That's why I was interested to hear about the new factory they'd just bought, but they didn't go into details as to where it was and if it solved their manpower problem.

The age old story with technology - all is ****ed if your battery goes flat.

Immobilisers have been around for decades and that all this is, just linked to a smart device.

Oh plus you can turn on your car radio from your hotel room - A great must have for everyone!
It's actually worse, as they pointed out if your phone's stolen, your up Sh*t creek without a paddle, that cars not moving. If your phone battery dies, that car ain't moving till you've got power to your phone.

He's actually invented a problem that didn't exist and I presume all you'd have to do to steal the car is get the persons phone, which technically is easier than getting a set of keys.

I'm quite sure it would invalidate any warranty and would probably increase insurance premiums as it's not a "Thatcham" category alarm.

I like the extra theft aid (horn and turning the radio on), which would allow a thief to locate the car nice and quickly too, just by pressing the horn or activating the radio and turning it up loud.

His friends call him Einstein eh? Sarcastically maybe?

I don't think he even rocks up to Manchester to do that, I think he records his links in a similar looking set down south.

I thought Deborah was too greedy looking for 40%. The woman was really trying to negotiate her down, I think. The dragons are always greedy buggers.

Touker was also greedy looking for 50%. If he hadn't been so greedy, he would have got that. I think he was right though. The candidate would have been better as a figurehead, I think.

The chocolate boys. It's a struggle having a big business in John O Groats. They might have a world wide luxury market, but in the UK they need to get by Thorntons and Hotel Chocolate, and those 2 don't exactly find it a bed of roses, do they?

I took a look at the chocolate company website - Cocoa Mountain. Jeez, the prices!

surely the selection boxes need to have a weight. They just show a chocolate count.

They don't seem to a be that much dearer than hotel chocolate - but HC are pretty dear too.

I can only see 1 retail outlet, outside Scotland.

£17.50 for 9 chocolates?!?

The Mrs hinted at a box of these for Christmas, she can stick to the usual Dairy Box 😁

Just been catching up with this series as I didn't even know it was on and I'm liking two of the new dragons but not a fan of Paphitis 2.0. I'd have preferred to have kept Kelly Hoppen.

And just because lack of symmetry really annoys me. Why can they not sit MFMFM? Just to please me!
