Going back to the small pencils, one of my clients in the education market was at the same Dubai show and they spent some time talking to the folks on their stand. Turns out there was much more to the product than actually shown in the Den and the conclusion at the show from teachers and others was it was a very good, niche product and one on which to build a successful business.

It's all in the editing folks!
Who's to say that the "much more" didn't come out in the Den and it's just that we didn't see it? We all know the show is very heavily edited. It seems reasonable that more info will have come out in the pitch and subsequent questions. If it didn't what's the point of anyone going on the show with a product to pitch? If it did, then clearly it wasn't sufficiently interesting info to either (a) include in the show or (b) generate an offer from a Dragon.

Given the current price of the pencils in question the "much more" would have had to be considerably beneficial to mitigate paying so much for something that schools can bulk buy for pennies.

So... Pencil couple. Either go to ikea, argos or any bookies, or just snap a normal pencil in 2. Also if it's for a smaller hand why is it just shorter? Why not thinner too.

Also, what idiot cake up with the stupid / boring /irrelevant viewers corner, which adds nothing to the show. Oh they are on the side of the person doing the pitch. Who'd have thought.

Only gave a bit feedback from the Dubai trade show as a possible matter of interest ..... no need to shoot the messenger

Well the trouble with ready meals is they contain rubbish like salt, sugar, preservatives etc. If you're a bodybuilder who is very eager to make sure you know exactly what you're eating and the various percentages of protein, carbs and fats etc.. you either make it yourself.. or you buy in from a specialist service like this.

Same with weight loss to a certain extent. Someone may prefer to get meals made for them that are tailored to their calorific requirements etc.

Trouble is it's a niche market imho because it's inevitably more pricey to buy meals made for you rather than get the ingredients and make it yourself. I've seen products like this in America.

I think he's harmless. He just wants to make it. I don't get the feeling he's acting maliciously or trying to con anyone.

Sadly I know men like him and they always get the girls - WHY? I would leave him after 30 seconds of him telling me how wonderful he thinks he is.

And here I am eternally single, that's clearly where I'm going wrong!
