No, no no. Antifreeze is base on Ethylene Glycol and IS toxic and damaging to car paintwork. Screenwash and other windscreen de-icers do not contain Ethylene Glycol but rather Alcohols from Ethyl Alcohols upwards in the Aliphatic alcohol series, such as Isopropy Alcohol etc. These are relatively harmless and are volatile.

Believe me. I am a Chemist.
TBH...I type the first word that came into my head. I really meant to type "de-icer".

Any claims for damages to motor vehicles caused by my original post will not be accepted

... i only like Duncan, as he sometimes has arguments with the other Dragons
I like him because, despite the gruff exterior I believe he does give a damn, and isn't quite so much of a money grabbing greedy b'stard as the others.

Not understanding blokie with outward bound wheelchair, such a great device, and such a stupid arrangement with regard to shares. Hadn't he ever seen DD before? Also, as majority shareholder with 47%, what was to stop him selling 15% of his shares? That would have still left him as the majority share holder, and secured at least one Dragon!

I don't think the guy was living in the real world regarding money. Didn't he also say that his wheelchair retailed at nearly Ģ4,000?

That's what I thought. And he'd only need to give up an extra 10% of his share, on top of the 3% agreed. But maybe he thought that would be unfair to him, with the other investors getting the benefits, while only having to give up 1% each.

They presumably must have agreed on a 5% top share to give away with no room for negotation.

Ģ1000 would be more like it. But I didn't quite get how it works: it's just a wheelchair, with a couple of bicycle wheels on it? And some levers to propel it instead of rails on the wheels (I'm sure I've seen that somewhere before). And how does it make it easier to go over rough terrain; the mountain bike-like tyres? It might need some gearing on it!

I assumed it was the small wheels front and back that handled tipping when going over rough terrain. They should've provided some ramps or a tray of rocks to demonstrate.
As for price - given many of my cycling chums will pay well over a grand for a bike they may use less than once a week I don't think Ģ4000 for something used every day would be out of the question for many people. However how big is the user base for young, affluent wheelchair users? Sadly the disabled often struggle to get well paid employment

I didn't see the problem with the price of the chair, lots of bikes can cost from Ģ2000 and up, surprised he didn't come back with that.

Check out the US version of the show, it's called Shark Tank. Far more entertaining than this series has been so far. Absolutely huge investments too.

Excellent show. Was shown on Dave last year if I remember, but hasn't reappeared. Dave also showed the Irish version of Dragon's Den & the Canadian one too.

Yes, but for that and the difference it could make to people's lives, Ģ4,000 isn't outrageous.

Seeing as an individual probably wouldn't use a specialist chair like this on a daily basis, I see a better target market as country parks and so on buying them in for hire.

Just realised SHARK TANK is being shown weekdays on Dave 7.15-8.00am. Think it might be a repeat of the series already shown, but for those of you who have missed it set your PVR folks!

Not another annoying woman making pink bottles, why limit yourself to only the female market.
I thought that silly too, but then her commenting afterwards about the colour of de-icer bottles and questioning why there is aftershave/perfume made her look even sillier too. I'm glad the Dragons dodged that bullet.

Personally I don't care how it smell, I'm happy that it does the job of thawing the ice on my window! Keep one in the house too, that way avoiding the 'locked in car' situation.
I see they're selling well then!

I don't think Kelly is too bad really.. Piers however is a waste of a chair.

A good line up would have been: Peter, Theo, Deborah, Kelly, Duncan, Richard Farleigh. Six dragons.
I don't get all the Piers hate, at first a lot of comments of dislike were focused on both Piers and Kelly and as much as I don't mind either of them, I don't see what Kelly's done to remove the negative view some had about her! Personally I'd like it to stay as it is but with Theo replacing Duncan and maybe the addition of James Caan.

Duncan's quite clearly the best dragon at the moment, don't know why you'd replace him.

What I like about Duncan is although he plays the role of scary Dragon, he will stick up for pitchers if he feels they are being ganged up on.

For me Duncan and Peter are the ones that keeping the show alive.

Duncan cos often thinks outside the box and see things that the other dragons cant see. His straight and honest talk is refreshing contrary to the patronizing and arrogant voice of Debrah.

Although I canīt personally warm to Peter... he he is by far the one that invests the most, the one that takes risks, the wealthiest one, the one with the biggest portfolio and always gives pretty sound advice.

Without them the show would be dead.

Agree! Duncan and Peter are the 2 bookends that have a very uninteresting story between them:- Kelly and Piers are absolutely forgettable, Debra is meh...

In the intro you see the dragons walking out of the "lift" with bright white lights behind them.. pretty sure those lights are on the other side of the "lift". Sort of gives it away, not that there was any doubt!

Didn't Peir say it was very nice when he tried it first?

Now Debs isn't so keen, neither is he.

Sometimes Evan drives me up the wall. Someone being told they don't need investment is hardly unprecedented.

I do think there is a hole in the market as they said. If you don't drink alcohol your options are very limited when you go out.
