It would be sweet if Duncan, Kelly and Piers got together, put up £25k each and invented a childrens toy that blew the other lot away. Nothing to stop them either. All they need is a suitable name. Kidz Travellerz should do it, it's got two "z"s. They can have that for free, I've got millions.

First thing I thought about when I saw the alpacas was how tasty they are.

I couldn't see all the excitement over the cuddly backsack either
It was a pillow backsack shaped as an animal with a small compartment to fit a tiny blanket in. The child is going to need another backsack to carry its actual toys in.
That it is completely unpatentable is usually a red card for the dragons so I guess posters above must be right in that they wanted the guy, not the product.

I think i have been spoiled by the excellent US series as this is just not cutting it for me anymore.

Duncan clearly has given up, the businesses pitched have been by enlarge poor and i have not taken to either new Dragon.

Think ill just stick to Shark Tank, they have some very good businesses pitched and rotating the sharks weekly keeps it fresh.

That Pier's Linney is a boring, pain of a substitute for Theo .

According to Evan Davies, the past 2 weeks we had :-

An energizing pitch
A charismatic pitch
A pitch with military precision
A compact pitch
An accomplished pitch
A persuasive pitch
An assertive pitch
A polished pitch

So why don't they state that on the show instead of making out that is was a successful deal?

How many other deals don't make it? Maybe most, so the whole set up is a farce.

I think they should consider banning joint investments. No one is going to go with the new dragons if Pete and Deborah are available. And Duncan is pointless. He makes ~ 1 offer a season (usually for the weirdest rubbish) and is only ever considered if he is the only one left. You can see the dilemma on the face of joe public "£100k/working with him hmm.."

Fed up with all the baby/kids pitches on this show.

I'm surprised Duncan has any money left to invest, having splurged money on a motorboat and getting well and truly stuffed by his ex in the divorce. He's also had to sell of his premises on a sale / lease back deal to gather some dosh together.

Maybe if he had a good idea, he could apply to Dragon's Den............

It was an interesting show once.

Then, as always, the production team got carried away. The Dragons' egos inflated to insufferable proportions, the show became about them and them alone. The new recruits are abysmal - Hoppen has the personality of a slug. I wonder how in God's name somebody so ineloquent, so vacuous, could ever have built a business.

Frankly, having seen the monstrosity of a house Jones lives in, I wouldn't want his judgement anywhere near my business.

I think I may come up with another business idea (other than the one that provides my livelihood) just so I could tell them where to stick their 40% equity demands. Utterly preposterous. No investor expects such a thing in the real world - this is not how it works at all.

Agree with all this. We have now got to the stage where the entrepreneur overvalues their business regularly. I suspect this has happened because they know if they do get an offer from a dragon they will want a huge slice of their equity. Therefore they themselves go in with an over valuation to start with.

I don't know its all rather become an entertainment show and getting past its sell by date. Also to me it seems the dragons are to often trying to find fault. Most things will not work or break if you go out of your way to misuse them deliberately. I wonder how many of the deals in this series were actually completed?

As for last night I really don't get why all of the dragons wanted to invest in the rucksack. Didn't strike me as anything special yet they were all fighting for it. Couldn't see the unique selling point.

Maybe one shouldn't be personal but she has eyes like chips of ice - the coldest, most hostile I've seen in a good while.

Hah! Brilliant!
Must admit I was watching and muttering to myself for him to take the offer from Kelly and Piers. The smugness and greediness of the elder dragons really gets my goat, when they refuse to budge on huge percentages of people's business.

Also, I'm a big fan of the let's-pretend-we're-in-a-real-lift set. It adds so much to the proceedings.
Perhaps in the next series, we could pretend we're in a submarine or even a space-station, and have the entrance be an air-lock with steam-valves and shooshing noises?
Please Note: I'm being sarcastic.

Note to set designers. GROW UP! Just put a set of sliding doors there or something. Honestly ...

They stick themselves on TV as self inflated Prima Donnas purely to have their egos stroked.

Of course one should be personal.

Yes and also, most episodes were too predictable. A series of iffy investment opportunities that you knew before they started were unlikely to get much interest because they weren't at the end (just an occasional exception) and at the end, one decent idea that DID get an investment. There was very little deviation from that same old same old format and it's become tiresome.

I was surprised that nobody last night mentioned a possible neck risk to small children getting caught up in the cuddly rucksack straps... it should at least have been explored and a satisfactory answer obtained.

And so it goes on. 'their'?? Whatever happened to 'his' and 'her'?

Afraid I gave up reading this.

New dialect of Pidgin English? I wonder if Google Translate can handle it? Must remember to permanently avoid that companycheck website!

Piers and Kelly were both terrible new dragons really that added nothing.

Although I did feel Piers slightly improved during the second run of episodes, Kelly is easily the worst dragon they have ever had. A totally negative mood vacuum without a single likable feature.
At least Piers started to stick up for himself against Meaden and Jones' bullying tactics.
But overall the whole show is like a dying dog on it's last legs.

Agree - saw Shark Tank on Dave (2 years ago?) and thoroughly enjoyed it - the channel has screened the Irish & Canadian Dragon's Den versions too.

Where have you been watching Shark Tank? Online? No sign of it on Dave anyway!

I think that guy who brought the cuddly toys 'into the Den' for the exposure the programme could give rather than the investment.

Very misleading when it was filmed a year ago so the outcome was obviously known well before it was broadcast.
