yet as obvious as that sounds,and the Dragons clearly didnt get this, thats not something the existing cycling clothing manufacturers do cater for. FLAB are actually hitting a market that most cycling kit makers (whose sizing is generally influenced by the professional riders and teams they supply and the public side is just an offshoot of that) havent shown any interest in supplying, as else theyd have fixed their sizings to match, whereas most L/XL cycling kit they make is more like an actual M in size.

so I dont think they understood the investment opportunity well enough to judge properly. cyclists will buy that stuff because its actually designed to fit them, and because its a quirky brand

One of the dragons did point out that a lot of amateur cyclists do take up the sport in order to lose weight and thus are big to begin with, so it's strange that the existing brands haven't capitalised on that. With that being said though, I suppose even if the dragons did like the FLAB brand, they would question what would happen to FLAB if and when the existing brands did begin to cater for FLAB's target market.

You are forgetting they were selling to retailers at wholesale price. With shipping and other costs taken into account their margins would be tiny, as the Dragons pointed out.

I thought it was a great idea though, but "ukick" was a poor name. A name related to the feathers and colours would have been better.
