I assume (as this was just 6 / 12) that he'll still be around for the second half of this series.

DD is about businesses of all types.
Personally I'm more interested in pitches featuring already established businesses than inventions which haven't yet sold (and aren't even made yet).

I thought the same. I think she'd also be much nicer to work with than Kelly. I liked the way she met the young 19 yr old entrepreneur half way last week because she wanted to start off their partnership in the right way. I can imagine she takes the trouble to mentor people to help them develop.

According to Sky's EPG, it was 6 of 12.
I think we had the second half of last years at the start of this year, so we will probably get the second half of this series at the same point in the new year (with Duncan) and the next series (without Duncan) starting later next near (if it comes back).
To be honest, the Dragons are Theo, Duncan and Peter. They made the show. It's already not the same show without Theo and to lose Duncan would be too much.
I like Duncan and I'm sorry he's leaving the show. I don't know where some people get the idea that he doesn't invest, he seems to make quite a few offers whether they're accepted or not is another question. I don't think he's miserable either, he seems to have a good sense of humour and he's always the first one up if any of the pitchers asks for volunteers to try out any inventions. I think the show will be worse off without him. If anything Piers should go, he never invests and doesn't seem to add much. I've noticed a few times he starts off liking an invention/business idea but when the other Dragons find flaws or say they don't like something he then changes his opinion and goes on about the flaws as if he thought of them. He's a bit of a bandwagon jumper.

I didn't say I only liked inventions but they used to be a substantial part of the show. It's only interesting if the business idea is something novel and that is less frequent these days. Quite often it's a product someone has found abroad and wants to sell in the UK. That's just trading.
Add to that the reducing number of characters among the dragons and the terrible plodding commentary and you have a show which is becoming past its own sell by date.
Piers is about as much use to the Den as a chocolate fireguard - Even when he seemed keen on the helmets he manages to say 'I'm Out' without any real why!
The guy that came back was a nice reminder of how the Den used to be, a slightly whacky guy with a slightly whacky invention but was actually serious about it! Peter and Duncan literally carried the whole pitch!

What I don't get with the light/helmet idea, is how long will it be before a driver gets dazzled by the beam, it can't be safe to have a light attached to the head with such free movement.

Whats surprising is that the game they were pitching for was one involving Marmite, but they had trouble with using the brand name. Seems the Beeb cut out all references to it. It did seem odd to me that they got investment for the liar liar game as it really seemed rubbish to me.

From what we see on the TV, those would be my opinions on the Dragons. Hoppen just seems to look down her (considerable) nose at everybody.
Nobody watching it tonight? I wouldn't blame you. The editing has reduced the show to a sort of end of the pier talent show. We did not see one business related question directed at the Texan with the beef jerky product, we have no idea at all what his sales and profits are, where he makes the product, what his forecasts are or why he needs an investment. I'm sure these questions were asked but they were not shown. Instead garbage about his suit.
