The Last Leg with Adam Hills (C4) - Deserving of a stand alone series?

The Last Leg has been a studio based entertainment show on each night of the Paralympic games. It's a light hearted look at the days events with paralympians and celebrity guests.
It finished it's run last night and many people in the thread in the London 2012 forum are sad to see it go.
I can't see C4 keeping it with the same format now that the games are over

but....

if they tweaked the format could it be a Friday or Sunday night show with a round up of the weeks events, interviews, reports and a bit of chat?

The could keep Josh Widdecombe as his regular sidekick and keep Alex Brooker as a regular reporter and guest.
I'm thinking he could do light hearted, verging on comedy interviews in the style of the old Ricky Gervais, Ali G and Tubes from Soccer AM. I'm not saying every interview should be like this though as Brooker has proved himself to be a decent reporter.
Infact he is one of the finds of the paralympics on the broadcasting side.
He's competent, has some good anectdotes, a good sense of humour and seems comfortable with live tv.

Being a weekly round up it would move more into topical events, news, entertainment and sport.

Thinking about it it would seem to be along similar lines to That Sunday Night Show.
I think that Hills would do a better job. Comedians seem to do well in presenter roles.

What do you think?

but I don't think the format would work post-games

I don't see why not though. Obviously the focus wouldn't be on the Paralympics but on the events of the week.

The title "The Last Leg" could refer to being on a Sunday night and being the round up of the week.

Never heard of the guy but unconfirmed reports that he is Australian would be enough to scare me off .

I absolutely loved this show and I don't see why it can't carry on for a run. Maybe they could have in-depth interviews with para-athletes like David Weir or OscarvPistorius once all the excitement has died down.

It would be good to find out more about them as humans as well as for their athletic ability.

I'm really going to miss this show though. Some of the #isitoks were hilarious.

I really enjoyed the show and would like it to continue on with the same. I think it could work really well as weekly show.

Love the show - perhaps it could be retained for the Athletics World Championships next year. i think Channel 4 have the rights to that.

Great fun and really love Adam Hills.

I love the show! It broke down any awkwardness surrounding disabilities, what and what could not be said and overall had a good laugh.

Knowing C4 i doubt this is the last we will see of this show, but will obviously have to be adapted.

Absolutely Yes! With the tweaks it will be a good show for channel 4, i'd like to see them having a go at adapting the breakfast show as well as i thought the two presenters on it were excellent and a pleasure to wake up to

When I first saw this show I was horrified at how disrespectful the presenters seemed towards disabled people. Then I cottoned on and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the run!

The presenters all gelled together so well, it was really funny and I'd love it to continue in a topical format
