I think us Chryed fans have been cheated... We will probably not get to see a happy ever after for Chryed and the wedding that we all wanted to see..,

What a crying shame, seriously. I have no idea how your bodies will cope with that much depression. It's gonna be completely crushing for you all.

I'm sick of logging on to DS and seeing that stupid "Waiting for Chryed to get it on..." thread. I'll be so glad when that goes, seriously glad. I hate the word "Chryed".

Don't expect the threads to stop when they do finally leave.

Besides maybe they do end up happily ever after. Don't start complaining just yet.

The Corrie/Todd threads ended after a while as did the Hollyoaks/John-Paul ones, but I wouldn't let it bother you if the Chyred threads did phase out in time.

I have to say I was surprised to read that article a few days ago, that they were going, although I wasn't as mad keen on Chryed as I was with Todd and Karl, and John-Paul and either Craig or Kieron. (JP's two romances during his reign in Chester, and not forgetting dating Spike the DJ at one point.)

It seems to be goodbye to the gay males in Albert Square, what with Ben already gone, and now Syed and Christian going eventually.

The only thing I will be disapointed with is if we don't get a "threesome" with Gary Lucy

With all three flipflopping of course.

Gary Lucy's character Danny could stay on but if he is involved with Syed''s upcoming dodgy dealings that may not happen.

What about every fan of every other character or couple who hasn't had a happy ending?

Oh no what a crying shame, if you want someone to blame then blame the actor the plays Syed as he decided to leave before Syed and Christian wed.

Can you really blame him? He's a brilliant actor (in my opinion) but has basically been treated as a glorified extra for the past year. And Christian and Syed have been engaged for 16 months - plenty of time for them to have decent screentime and storylines, but that never happened. Do you really think Chryed fans are going to blame the actors for getting as fed up of it as we are?

He was a glorified extra under Bryan Kirkwood, who knows how Lorraine Newman would have utilized him. He could have become quite a central character, but he left before she got a chance to storyline the wedding.

I don't think you should blame anyone as lots of characters' don't get married even when they have been engaged so why should Chryed be any different?

I don't understand how anyone can get annoyed by a thread really? I mean it's in the appreciation section of DS. It's not even on the top of this page. How can that bother anyone? Be grateful that none of us are Ronnielle fans and start threads left right and centre about them. Plus, there is far more threads about Sharon, Kat, Derek than there has ever been on Christian and Syed on the main forum.

Anyway, I am fairly confident that Christian and Syed will get thier civil partnership and leave together, happily. It not just makes sense to thier story - it being a natural end, but considering both actors part ways at the same time, I think it's fairly obvious.

He wasn't to know Bryan Kirkwood would be leaving when he announced his departure in February. BK, as you can probably remember, left very suddenly in April and Lorraine Newman wasn't even named the EP until after she had taken over his role, and I'm suspecting this was because actors kept leaving and/or asking for breaks!

Christian and Syed have always been portrayed as an against-all-odds couple, who came together despite the most difficult of circumstances and have always fought to stay together. Syed's very first storyline was not only a coming out storyline but also a forbidden love story, and he's been with Christian almost throughout his whole stint on the show. Even when they broke up in November the last thing they said to each other was "I love you." For them to not get married would be completely wasting all the storylines they've had while on EE. From where I'm sitting, a happy ending is the only right ending for Christian and Syed - even soaps need some happiness sometimes.

The wedding is coming....... It will be a typical EE 'will they or won't they' according to Sharon Marshall and considering it was written after Marc handed his notice in, I'm sure it will go ahead - in the end, after a lot of Danny related drama.

It looks like Marc handed his notice in shortly after filming Amira's exit and considering how terrible it was, can anyone blame him? Anyway, there's too many strong characters in EE right now for C and S to ever have become main players but should they return 10 years down the line - especially if the producers approach them - they would progress to main players I'm sure.

I think Marc handing his notice in way back in Febuary is a large reason why Chryed have had such a long engagement.

They may have already got married this Summer, but I think tptb probably felt a wedding would work better, after all the angst and a perfect send off for the couple.

Christian will be missed but Syed was just there to make the gay couple in the square with Christian.

EastEnders had all the drama with the gay affair and then the reveal and also Amira coming back with the child and they simply bring up Yazmin as their own.

So there wasn't much scope for the characters.

I hope they are not killed off as it would be pointless.

Yes, but this is EE where only murderers and cheats like Stacey get happy endings. Remember how so many best-loved characters were killed off in a nasty way i.e. Dennis, Tiffany Mitchell etc etc. I hope you're right though.

What a shame. I liked Danielle and felt cheated but didn't waste my time on a thread about it.

but the Ronnielle fanbase was huge - and there was PLENTY of threads about her when the rumourville started about her exit. I remember this because it was way excessive - and people were getting pissed off with it cluttering the forum.

The difference between the Danielle fans and the Chryed ones is that they used to post thier thoughts across the forum, where as the Chryed fans have that one large thread.

The bulk of Chryed threads posted on the forum over the years, have actually been from those that oppose the couple.

Who cares. They're barely even main characters anymore. These obsessive fans ruin it for the characters sometimes.

The writers of the show don't fit it around "Chryed" fans.

Syed had the potential to be a great and complex character but the producers blew it over the last 2 years or so, whilst working on such epic storylines as 'Who's shagging Kat' and the Tyler & Whitney romance.

There were hints in 2009 that Masood had been jelaous of Syed right from when he was a child (of Zainab's love for him) which probably contributed to Syed's personality flaw of wanting to please his parents by doing the wrong thing - marrying Amira and giving them grandchildren - but that aspect has been more or less forgotten since he and Christian finally got together. There's also been nothing of Syed's muslim identity since he's been settled with Christian, a relationship between a muslim and an atheist should have presented its own problems and rewards. And fostering an older child would have been an obvious route to go down, turning Christian and Syed into a proper family unit with Yasmin and therefore opening up more storyline possibilities.

The door is probably being left open for them to return, even if its just for a short guest stinct and no doubt their exit storyline will have more effort put into it than anything the've had over the last 12 months.
