I am looking to buy a new compact Camera (not too expensive, under £100) with a good zoom. I have looked at these Samsung WB720 and Samsung WB750

Has anyone got any personal experience of either so it could help me to make a choice as to which one is better? I’m going towards the WB750 as it has a CMOS sensor, panoramic function and 1040 HD.

I also have a Panasonic Lumix bridge camera which is great, but the TZ30 is too expensive at the mo so I’m definitely going for compact with the long zoom. Any suggestions as to which of the above is better? I can’t see any professional reviews for the WB720 but there are some on Ebay.

I got a wb150 worth the £150 I know u said under £100 but im just saying

The Samsung WB720 would be a great choice for under £100. This camera has huge 14x optical zoom and some other very nice features. Currently it is offered at eBay for £90 which seems a pretty good deal to me.

Which? haven't tested the 720 but they tested the 150, the 750 and the 700. The 150 didn't do too well due to the 'mediocre' quality of the HD video which only manages 720p, and they said it was quite slow in between shots, very slow in burst mode and slow to start. The 750 did pretty well, falling just shy of a Best Buy, but the 700 did better due to its superior LCD screen and image stabilization.

The 750 is much better than the 720 - has more zoom, better video quality etc. but costs some £60 more as well. Actually I think the Samsung WB750 is one of the best cheap compact ultrazoom cameras.

720 seems to be an old model, it's not on samsung's site ... could also be renumbered for argos/currys etc and also sold with a different model number elsewhere?

I meant to say the WB750 is one of the best cheap cameras in this class not the 720. And you are right, the 720 is quite outdated now.
