8GB 7" A13 Google Android 4.0 MID

Can anyone tell me how much actual - not standby - battery time I should get from this type of tablet? I just bought one of these and am only getting approximately one hour of browsing etc - and that's with the screen dimmed to lowest setting. I wasn't expecting to get a great amount of hours but just one seems a bit sparse. Stand-by time is approx 4 hours.

You should get approx 6 hrs usage and my similar tablet would last days just on standby - it sounds faulty

Thank you. Didn't think it was right myself but wanted advice before I do something about it.

it depends on the tablet. You should be getting at least 4 to 5 hours but on the cheap ones I can imagine that they used cheap battery which may be effecting battery life and wifi may be drawing some power though one hour does not sound right.

The MID tablest are normally not too bad so this one sounds as if it is faulty.

Does anyone know anything about All Winners tablets? I'm not looking for mega hours but I also don't want to be attached to an extension cable, especially if I'm using the tablet as an ereader! I also can't afford the likes of an iPad!

There are other tablets with good battery life what are not ipads. It depends on how much you want to spend. What about the google Nexus 7? or the galaxy tab 2? Not as expensive as the ipad but both have excellent battery lives. Amazon have also released the Fire and Fire HD in the UK which are both cheap and are said to have good battery lives.

Or Blackberry PlayBook or Ainol Auroa II or Elf II.

All depends on how much you want to sepdn as well...the MID would cost less than the Nexus for Fire

Oh yea the blackberry is a pretty good one as well for it's price.

I'm afraid all the tablets mentioned are way out of my price range - that's why I went for the Mid in the first place. Thanks for all the help/advice.

I think the MID tablet the op mentioned would have been around the £70 mark if it is the one I am thinking off so even the Playbook is a lot more expensive.

Even though the MID is a cheaper tablet it certainly should last longer than it was so hopefully the op can get a refund/replacement.

True. There might not actually be anything wrong with it and the battery might just need calibrating.

I've already asked for a refund - which I have absolutely no doubt I'll get. No point in getting a replacement if I'm going to have the same problem. It's a pity really, cos it's a nice wee tablet.

Most likely it was a faulty unit - most of these cheap tablets are fine - maybe a faulty batch.

Erm YEAH! Why so surprised? If I could've afforded £129, I would hardly have gone for a MID in the first place.

A lot of people don't seem to be able to understand that not everyone can afford to pay a lot of money on a tablet or anything in general really.
