Just watching now... W.. T.. F?
He can't sing and his speech at the start made him sound like a big ponce full of his own self importance. This years' Frankie Cocozza
He is more than "on the edge of being annoying" - he IS annoying

I thought he was flat in many places. I am sure they must have heard it too. Maybe they are told to let Frankie C type entertainers through even if they can't sing. I think they should go back to auditions without audiences. These tone deaf nobodies come out as if they are superstars and everyone paid to see them.

Absolutely dire.

He was so up himself, thought he was cool, he wasn't, thought he was funny, he wasn't, thought he had a good voice, he didn't,

I would have loved the judges to give him 4 no's just to wipe that "I'm so cool and funny and all the girls love me" cocky smile off his ugly face. Can't stand people like him.

As soon as he came on I thought he's trying to be like FC.

It's just the long hair, the same sort of stupid cocky "I'm gods gift to humans" attitude

I liked him. I liked his personality and the fact that he didn't take himself too seriously. He was entertaining. He was funny, attractive and had a nice voice.

He took charge of the stage and the performance and had some spark about him.

A bit too much, imo.

I got a whiff of Frankie Cocozza as well, it wasnt just the hair, it was the fact he was so up himself and the "I'm God's gift to the world" kind of thing
Compare him to Jamie Affro, who could sing and perform quite well and didnt have the same attitude as them....

He was no better than the Britney impersonator, yet he is somehow great, and she is lambasted. Proof that arrogance really is more important than actual talent on this show (well, if you're a guy it is). It's just the usual style over substance crap we usually get, where style is in fact a carefully engineered and contrived mainstream image, increasingly based on shows like TOWIE.

It was all set up, particularly when he got the audience to cheer his "Eddie String" name Cringeworthy.

I think the security guards would have hauled him off pretty fast if he'd planted himself in Tulisa's lap

I'm with those who found him entertaining in spite of his seeming lack of any significant vocal talents. Perhaps I'd have found him less so if I'd been more aware of his indebtedness to Russell Brand, my awareness of whom is so minimal that I picture Russell Grant whenever he's mentioned Well, they share ten out of twelve letters... Lorna for better or worse wasn't presented as possessed of a carefree attitude and ready wit, just as being desperate for fame.

Plainly there's a wide range of responses to Eddy. Couldn't dislike him myself, nothing of meanness was displayed and his confidence on stage was refreshing. I've already seen more than a season's worth of folk standing there like rabbits caught in the headlights. Just wished he could sing a bit better, but you can't have everything.

I thought he was a bit of a cock. However he was only behaving like a cock because no doubt that's what the producers told him to do. Think of the publicity they got from FC last year ....... " Oh, that was a great character and story, let's do it again ! "

I have watched XF from the first year, but it's all so contrived I may well abandon ship.

He's definitely no Frankie. Eddy would make for a very good TV personality. Maybe a presenter on a show like Never Mind the Buzzcocks or something similar.
