I miss her. Seriously the Vic is awful right now. Is there anyone who likes the Vic as it is now?

The Vic doesn't need Peggy behind the bar to liven up, it just needs to get rid off Kat and Alfie.

Part of the reason I stopped watching was Peggy's presence was missed and Derek was overbearing. For me, she was the backbone of the show.

As much as I like her, Janine wouldn't work there as she doesn't like anybody and nobody likes her. It needs a popular landlady to bring the atmosphere back.
So she gets The Vic but after the boycott gets Sharon to be the land lady. Peggy returns and blows a fuse lol |

The Beales, I can't see as candidates. Ian is the midst of a breakdown and is hardly in the state to bring a lively atmosphere into the Vic. Plus, he's too 'Ian' if you will, to the Vic and the Beales owning the Vic will give more exposure to Lucy. And I'd like the Vic to go a big family unit, not a small one. The Mitchells, are in dire straits right now. They are a shadow of their former selves, and tbh a Phil and Sharon run Vic I don't see as appealing either, nor do I believe Sharon can 'save' the Mitchells from their current pit. That argument, assumes Phil is the Mitchells, and once Phil arises from his pit, so will the Mitchells themselves. The Mitchells' problem in recent years has always been the decline of them as unit rather than the a decline in terms of characterisation. The Mitchells need to be re-built, and that will take years, and it won't be through adding on Watts' to make them Mitchells. It's just another addition of faux-Mitchell gate even if Sharon does have history with Phil - she isn't a Mitchell. She isn't a Rickman. She's a Watts, and to all intents and purposes, so is Denny. The Brannings are a no-no as well; they are far too many of this family as it is, with them breeding faster than hair lice. Max's niche is the way too slick, and slimy car salesmen - he simply doesn't have the open demeanour to greet a wide variety of cliente that someone who runs the Vic needs - this is seen in the previous calibre of Vic landlords, Den Watts (who was the Mr Cool of Walford back then) Frank Butcher, and in later years Alfie Moon. The only two exceptions to this rule are Phil and Grant, and Eddie Royale. Eddie Royale was a failure, and Phil and Grant were well, Phil and Grant. Tanya would probably spend most of time in the Vic with a wine glass in her hand and gossiping about the clients than actually doing any bar work. Derek, is just too over-exposed as it is. And Jack has the personality of a wooden plank so that rules him out ofrunning the Vic. And, as much as I love Janine I can't buy her running the Vic either. There's the Foxes - but Kim is too much to bare in her capacity at the B & B - let alone elsewhere. So who should Run the Vic? |

The show dipped in quality the second she left. She'll always be Queen of the Vic to me!

I think bring in new and fresh faces to take over the Vic.
Granted she had a link with two big characters in Sharon and Den, but Chrissie did well during her time in the Vic and was relatively new. |
