I have read it. It is good and worth reading. With the material he had to work on, it should have been better but still it's worth reading. It captures it all quite accurately whilst obviously taking it to extremes in places.

I remember at the time, Simon said he loved the book. In fact Ben Elton was on Simon's second This Is Your Life. Thought that was odd and the time and still do!

It's characters are essentially exaggerated forms of real people who've appeared on the show- the Louis Walsh type judge is even more pathetic, Sharon Osbourne is a post-op transsexual, Calvin Simms is actually a toned down version of Simon but they're essentially one and the same.
Lots of contestants appear in various forms too- Chico, Steve Brookstein, 2 To Go, Journey South! |

I started reading it and I never got to finishing it, however I did see it on my bookshelf last night and I think I must start reading it again.

Oh, is that the one that gets mentioned here every year? Haven't been majorly tempted to read it thus far but maybe this is the year! I'm currently reading "The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell" by Tom Bowyer (apparently he spent several months with Simon, which in turn makes me wonder if anything was edited out or in, lol) which I'm finding interesting so I suppose I'm in the mood for show-related books.
