She is already overkill with being shoehorned into every scene.

Pretty much getting the Stella treatment.

Every scene? Hopefully that won't happen.
Don't most new characters appear regularly for the first few weeks?

Personally, I think she's great.

She was BRILLIANT. Sue Johnston is BRILLIANT. She's the one reedeming feature about Corrie atm.

I would watch Sue act anyday to some of the drivel we have to endure right now

examples- Tracy and Ryan & Maria and Jason's boring romance...

Gloria is a breath of fresh air...

I love Sue Johnston. But as usual Corrie have gone into overdrive with a new character and they are quickly making her into a stereotype. She deserves better writing than she's getting at present.

She's everywhere like her daughter.

I have to say I find her a bit annoying. I thought she would be on fire with the one-liners but the few she has had have fallen a little flat. Nothing to do with Sue's delivery, it's lame writing, they need to come up with something more orignal instead of recycling old Blanche scripts.

Was I watching something different?

She was awful, boring and pointless.

Wow someone who agrees with me.

I think everyone is just so impressed at the stunt casting. I agree Sue Johnsotn is amazing but that doesn't make the character good by default. At the moment she's a generic busybody with an occasional 'sharp tongue' but the lines she is getting are clichéd and falling flat.

I hate to diss Corrie, but this is the statement I agree with.

I am sick to death of Stella

Good actress, but like you say utterly pointless.

Do we actually need both Stella and Gloria, it's obvious that Gloria is what's needed behind the bar, but where does that leave Stella, one of them shouldn't be there.

She seems a bit like a replacement for Sylvia, but a younger, more fun version.

A Gloria question I asked on another thread:

She mentioned Norris last night - have they met yet? There's a rumour Gloria bans Norris and Mary from the pub - has that happened and I've missed it?

ITV keep beggering round with Corrie in the schedules and I have an uneasy feeling I've missed an episode...

Has Sue (Gloria) has a facelift?
Her face looks very taut to me.

I like her but she did my head in during the labour scenes. Marcus was way too polite.

I agree. Can't stand the way she is portrayed, no one would ever get away with that kind attitude. People would tell her to F Off at the earliest opportunity.

Is this character another of these boring elderly "matriarch" types that Eastenders and Corrie are obsessed with? I don't see the fascination with these characters. Cora Cross is probably the worst.

Have to agree, much as I like Sue, I do feel she's way over the top so far. that run in with Rita was awful and as I've said before, I'm sure she'd never be so nasty to stella and take Carl's part (unless there's some history there- eek)

Completely agree and I am most unimpressed with her acting at the moment as well. The lines are poor and so is the delivery......very hammy!
