The Sky+HD forum would be the best place to monitor

Don't forget that you can subscribe to the Sky forums and get an email to save you physically login on

You'll have to watch out on the Sky forum but it could be a few weeks.

Are the Pace boxes happening at the same time as the Samsung ones?

It should be all DVR boxes apart from the Thomsons.

Beta testers with these boxes should visit the beta forum on Sky now for some exciting news

Sky are asking the current beta testers first before opening to a more public beta, last time the first test lasted about 2 weeks so you should not have to wait too long now, I guess 3-4 weeks

I have been monitoring them for a while now but no news for my pace box yet

I am guessing you know something impeding that we dont and you arent supposed to tell us about then

My Samsung is being utterly hopeless at the moment, no matter how many resets I do.

I'll wait a little while to see if this mystical new EPG makes a difference or it's another incoherent chat with a Sky advisor

there's nothing "mystical" about it, it actually exists.
of course there are certain people that would never be happy no matter what happened.

the announcement was made in the restricted beta testers forum, that's why you wouldn't have seen any announcement.

this beta test is restricted to current beta testers.

My Samsung is a clunker at the moment, slow and laggy was hoping there will atleast a open Beta very soon. Potentially still a month or so away for us Samy owners

Really do not want to upgrade to a 1tb box only for sky to release a newer box with 5.1 through hdmi as i get the feeling a updated HD box will be coming for xmas .

I already have the new EPG on my Amstrad so this is just a general question. When the other makes get the new EPG, will they go straight to the Undelete/Catch-Up version or will they get the initial new version of the EPG first and then go through the later stages?

It was more a sarcastic remark than a serious one.

There's obviously something going on with Samsungs, quite a few people have stated how awful their own Samsung has been of late

I got 2 Sky HD boxes, The Amstrad DRX 890 updated to the new EPG,
but the Amstrad DRX 780 has not yet, even when I did a forced download.

My Samsung box is quite well behaved, can be a little sluggish sometimes but nothing too serious very rarely do I have to pull the plug because of problems.

However I would like the new EPG as I wanna use the iPad with it plus as a geek I can't stand to be behind everyone else, I hate 2 year mobile contracts for this reason as I can't have the latest iPhone every year lol.

So the beta testing for Samsung and Pace boxes is restricted to people who are already beta testers for Amstrad boxes? Does that make any sense?
