Yes. So I see. But that poll was before the amazing performances of our Paralympians and Andy Murray's US Open win

My previous poll doesn't include our Paralympians and ofcourse people may have changed their minds since the Paralympics and Murray's win, so I thought it would be sensible to start another one.

It would be easier to say who wouldn't deserve to win (and won't be any chance to)

Footballers/cricket players (had their worse year for a whille)

Must say it is re-freshing to have so many options!

Yes, an extraordinary year Mark F.

I wonder if they'll extend the shortlist beyond the usual 10 names.

It's whatever is freshest in the public's mind. You'll have to change it again when/if Lewis Hamilton is World Champion.

Well most the of the names would be the same in reality so would that work?

You just won't get the funny/strange picks form the likes of Nuts or whoever.

Ummm .. Rory McIlroy?

Anyway, Seb Coe allegedly has a personality, and he's not had a bad year in sport - given it's daft name, I'm assuming the Award itself is about whatever anyone wants it to be. Not that I'd vote for him but shouldn't he be there?

Otherwise, maybe Dave Weir or Mo Farrah ...

He's the number 1 ranked golfer in world, has bagged another major this year and is likely to play a big role in the upcoming Ryder Cup.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't make the top 10 shortlist.

Don't think so

It's very difficult....I would chose Ms Ennis as she deserved to win 3 years ago as well

Impossible choice. It will go to whoever has the biggest fanbase, following for that sport or undiluted regional vote. There's lots of cyclists out there to vote - but three with a claim. Murray has done something historic and got a gold medal as well. He should have the tennis and a lot of the scots vote - but may suffer as he wasn't televised , as the BBC scored a complete failure getting the final on air. Wiggins, Hoy and Ainslie also made hstory picking up gold medals too. Mo did something unique, and took two golds. Jessica won a multi-event medal and coped with more pressure than anyone. Laura Trott also ought to be there in the list - she took two golds, one in the cycling equivalent of a heptaphlon , and broke world records doing it.

I'm an athletics fan, so I want double Gold medal winner Mo Farah to be the SPOTY, but I don't mind if it's Bradley Wiggins, as winning the Tour De France is a remarkable achievement, with that Olympic gold being the icing on the cake.

Andy Murray's achievements, though significant by British tennis standards, are not in the same league as what those of Mo and Bradley (imo).

I'd rather see the whole of Team GB/Paralympics GB win the award.

I'm sure the BBC would prefer it to be Farah or Ennis or a Paralympian.
However, provided there's no manipulation of the vote, it should be a clear win for Wiggins.

Wiggins was on the BBC too if you are suggesting the BBC don't like cycling.....

The International Award will go to Usain Bolt

The Team Award will be shared between the Olympic and Paralympic Teams GB

He might get it but I certainly don't think it is a clear win for him.

Between Wiggins and Murray for me. Murray might grab it on the Scottish vote actually, perhaps not if Wiggins is seen as an anti Murray vote though

It's much harder to win the Tour de France than it is to win the US Open, especially with Federer and Nadal out of the picture. So there's no contest in my mind about Wiggins being the winner. Mo Farah should be next as well ahead of Murray.

It's a shame in a way that all this should be happening in the same year... any other time each of the people listed and many more would have deserved to win the Sports Personality of the Year!
