Coffee Essence?
Does anyone know any reliable stockists of pure coffee essence?
None of the supermarkets seem to sell it - only Camp chicory & coffee essence which only has 4% coffee essence in it. I tried using instant coffee as a sub (Mary Berry said to do 2 teaspoons instant coffee with 1 tablespoon hot water), but there was little coffee flavour in her Coffee Fudge Squares made that way. I was really disappointed. Coffee essence used to be everywhere in those little bottles. What does everyone else do for bakes that require it? |

Use more instant, two teaspoons seems a bit weak to me. Two tablespoons is more like it.
If booze is not a problem coffee liqeuer does the trick. |

Thanks breppo. Would still prefer to buy a little bottle of essence, but I guess that will have to do for now.
