Why does the keyboard keep disappearing having you to keep pressing the keyboard up button to finally make it stay there?

It does this when posting and also when creating threads. I struggled even when making this thread on my iPad!

Are you hitting the key to make the keyboard drop down off the bottom of the screen. it's quite near the right hand shift button and the return button
