What did everyone make of Strictly and X factor at the weekend?

I think Louis totally mucked up letting Alejandro go. How he picked that Giles and minging hair guy over him is beyond me. Overs look very strong but I think that Joseph is a total arse hole. No doubt he'll get through as he's the only guy

Strictly was brilliant. Dave Myers had us in tears

Apart from Dave and Karen, I was left so bored. It's a shame because generally I adore Strictly. And I am so sick of Bruce Forsyth.

I didn't see any of X Factor over the weekend but I did watch both Strictly episodes.

I thought the judges over scored Abbey Clancy but I may just be being cruel as it annoyed me when they described her as a model and presenter...she's a WAG, just say it! She's more likeable than I expected her to be. I do like Aljaž a lot.

My favourites were Natalie and Artem...before the show and especially after everyone had danced. Her hair is amazing.

Most surprising in a good way was Deborah Meaden. I expected Sophie Ellis-Bextor to be better. Dave Myers was great - his fan base should save him from low scores for a while.

Couldn't stand Julien Macdonald and as ever I can't stand James Jordan and Brendan Cole.

Glad that Iveta and Aliona are back (even if the latter has been given a duff). Kristina is pure sex, isn't she? The other new boy is a bit of alright too - he should be around for a while as Susanna's decent and will get loads of votes.

To be fair, the few times I've seen an episode of Tipping Point, the contestants would probably give the wrong answer if you asked them what their name was...

"SHE shot to fame as winner of the television talent show Pop Idol, and now Scottish performer Michelle McManus is warming up her vocal cords for another singing competition – but this time in Gaelic.

The 33-year-old has been learning the language so she can take part in a singing event at this year’s Royal National Mod.

The event and McManus’ singing competition will be broadcast later this year on BBC Alba."

I love Michelle.

Her song with one of my favourite bands, Manran, is amazing

It's fantastic!

I'm saying Ben Cohen for the men and Natalie for the girls (but Deborah is having the time of her life and I kind of want her to win)

I see a lot in the strictly forum moaning about her being dance trained. Who gives two hoots, she's incredible. Ashley and Ola would make a great looking baby!!

Me too. Properly enjoying it this year. I wanted Natalie to win even before she was partnered with Artem and before I saw her dance. I feel more legitimate saying it now!

I'm very much infatuated with Aljaž. So annoyed that he has to dance with Claptrap Clancy though. Also, she's younger than me? How?!

Sorry that I didn't know who Natalie was before Strickly

Fiona Fullerton is older than me, how?! She looks incredible (except when she's dancing with that idiot)
