Well this Eurovision is gonna look like a crap one for me. Looks like one of my cats is going to be put down within the next few days.

It's Eurovision week and I'm ill.
Good thing I didn't invite anyone over for a party, I'd be terrible company. But the same thing happened last year - I had a monster cold and my SO had a stomach bug - and I HAD invited people over, so I had to tell them all to stay away.I feel really miserable and not in the mood for Eurovision. ![]() |

And you'll all no doubt be glad to hear that I won't be able to come here after the show to moan (or rejoice) about the results
I have somewhere to be early in the morning where I need to be reasonably sharp, a Mother's Day coffee morning in my little one's kids' club, and I really can't go there frazzled and hungover... I tried to wiggle out of it but couldn't, so it's straight to bed for me after the show ends (midnight over here).

We should. Especially since Eurovision season is over and news is dry for a few months.

This has just cheered me up out of the depression of the night!

I'd give my right arm to be the Green Party's press agent. They (we, I'm a paid up member of them!) need the same kind of media love-in UKIP has got. There are votes to be stolen from the disaffected left just as UKIP has snatched votes from the disaffected right. Sadly, the Greens are still seen as a single issue party (let's be honest, that's all UKIP ever will be- which is why the "send 'em home" brigade love them so much), when in reality, their politics is about so much more than just the environment.

I don't understand how the previous Liberal protest vote has become one for UKIP rather than the Green's. Yes, the Lib Dems showed their true colours to be blue but UKIP is just the transformer vote (racists in disguise). Ugh at George Osborne acknowledging the UKIP vote...more like acknowledging all the dissatisfied Tory scum jumping ship.
Actually, I do understand the racist vote, when UKIP are pushed down our throats as the humorous, aren't they a gas a la Boris route...no wonder idiots feel compelled to vote for them. Thankfully, any perceived UKIP success means bugger all really. It's not like they'll make any difference come an actual general election. |

![]() The Greens are pretty much the only other party with good news to smile about, but unfortunately they're under a media blackout of sorts and positive political news isn't allowed! The only good thing to take from this is that UKIP only won 27% of the vote, just 2% ahead of Labour. If people in this country are so obsessed about the EU (and subsequently wanting to leave it) then how come UKIP didn't win this election by a massive landslide? Also, the overall turnout was only 34%, so people in this country aren't as interested in the EU as UKIP and media like to make out. |

Have to say I'm utterly stunned that UKIP have won a seat in Scotland. Didn't think I would ever see the day

Exactly, they should all have an equal share of the coverage. I don't want to have to go trawling twitter and the internet to find out how anyone outside of the media's current plaything has done! I'm sure the novelty will wear off once they actually have to knuckle down and come up with a proper manifesto when the GE rolls round, to live up to this "serious players" fallacy they've hyped up.
